Oh Dixie, what a very hard thing to do. I hope you can find a very loving home for your sweet babies! I'm sure you will! I will keep you, your furkidz, and your family, in my hopes and prayers. Good luck! ;)

oh dixie...i know how hard this is for you....but take comfort in the fact that you saved them....and now you will find them good forever homes....they had been left to starve, linger and die...you prevented this....if you find that it is taking too long....find a no kill shelter in your area and take them there...i say this only as a last resort!!! you have done the right thing!!!!be proud!!! :)
I'm so sorry to hear about this. At least you'll know that they are going somewhere where someone will love and protect them. Good luck on finding a new home for them. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
I am so sorry about the puppies. You may have to say goodbye to them soon, but you gave them a great gift...the gift of unconditional love for the first time in their lives. They probablly would not even be alive had you not found them, fattened them up and showered them with love. You have already done SOOO much for those kids. The next step will be hard, but I know they will be ever grateful to you. Good luck finding a perfect forever home, and good luck getting them adopted together.
:( Dixie...........it's hard for us to admit that our hearts are bigger than our pocket books! But..you have to look at the bright side, these babies were saved, loved and feed by you and I'm sure you will find them a GREAT home!! Please don't be so hard on yourself!! Would they have been better off to just ignore their needs from the beginning??
You made a difference. Don't ever forget that! You made a difference to those sweetie pups, and you made a difference to all the PetTalkers that read about them. :) :)
We have had a few calls about them so far. Some people don't want them because one is a boy and one is a girl. Some say they are to big. One lady wanted us to deliver them to her...the way she was acting, we are afraid that she wants to sell them to a lap.
But one man has called and said that if no one takes them by Friday, he would like to come up and see them. He raises champion Chinese pugs for a living. He lives on fourty acres of land, and has been wanting some bigger dogs to run around and chase off rabbits and stuff. Jeremy said that just talking to the man, it sounded like heaven for the two of them. The man knows their story, knows their sex, and doesn't care. He just wants them to run around and help him keep rodents out of his yard.
We are hoping that maybe we have a match with him. Of course, we will have to wait and see how the pups act around him, and he with them. I will let you all know what happens. Please, keep your fingers crossed.
that sounds like a great home for them...i agree the lady who doesn't even want to see tham and wants them "delivered" makes me very nervous!!!!! being houndies they will love a big area to run and chase rodents, etc!!!! and hopefully there aren't any major roads near the farm!!!good luck!!!!the deli dog ;) :)
Dixie - sound like you're screening the potential parents really well - I agree with the one that wants them delivered - no good!!! I just know they'll go to the right people - good job!!!!!
I hope all works out on Friday! Sounds perfect for them! I'll keep my fingers crossed! Please keep us posted! Love, Karen
