Sunday night my husband called me over to the door...two raccoons were on the branch. Pushing and shoving each other, falling off and climbing back on. I retrieved a flashlight to see them better. Both turned to me with those masked face looking as if..."Do you mind?????? A little privacy!! We are trying to eat here!!"
It is so cold the birds need to be fed. But I'm doing it in the morning now so the raccoons don't get it all!
I know what you mean about raccoons! so far, they haven't come around too much in winter - but one spring, when I was putting thistle seed out to attract finches, a whole FAMILY of raccoons waddled up in BROAD DAYLIGHT, climbed on the deck and railing, ripped the lid off the feeder and finished it off in no time flat.
