I am going to check into the Golden transport. All the legs I could do here are filled. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.

Candy,
There's a reason why you can't fill the legs for this one and it's because you're needed for the other one!!!! ;) I hope all goes well.

It was nice meeting you and Mike and Sophie this morning! Hope your trip went well! Of course after the fact, I realized I should have offered to get the dogs in Maumme and bring them to you in Indiana to save you some miles. It has been a crazy week here, but that's not a veryy good excuse :) Oh well, next time!! Looking forward to the pictures!
The transport didn't go as smoothly as we had expected. The lady that my husband was supposed to meet on Sunday morning was involved in a serious car accident Saturday. She suffered four broken ribs, a broken arm and had lost two of her teeth. Needless to say, she could not complete her leg of the run. We had received the phone call cancelling the trip at 8:30 Sunday morning, half an hour after my husband had already left. Fortunately he was in cell phone range so I was able to get a hold of him and he came right back. One of the dogs was also pretty scared. He would not go into the home that he was supposed to spend the night at. The owner of that home slept with her door open all night hoping he would come in, but he wouldn't. But with a lot of work on Lynn's behalf, someone was found to fill in the leg. My husband was to meet her at 4:00. He left the house around 1:00, giving himself three hours to get to Washington, because of snow. About 2:00 I had received a call at home that the lady Roger was supposed to meet was running an hour late. So my husband sat in Washington from 3:40 until 5:05. But all went well after that. Roger put the scared dog up front with him and rubbed his head the whole way there. The dogs were pretty tired and pretty much slept the whole way. He said if he was close to home, he would have dropped off the light colored one. He said that he was so friendly. My husband met Lynn and her husband at 7:00 and the dogs got home about 11:00 that night. Apparently the lady that had owned them travels a lot on business. She had hired somebody to care for the dogs and he had not done his job. Once she found out the condition the dogs were in (malnourished and neglected), she decided to place them in rescue. They are safe and sound now.

What a day for the transports! Weather did not co-operate for us either. Glad they finally made it to their forever home though!!! :D
