Sue,
Bandit is in my prayers also. I pray that whatever they
find can be cured with no problems. Bandit & your family
deserve years and years of happiness together. All paws
crossed at our house for a good outcome. Please let us
know when the results come in. Liz & Smokey Joe.:)
:( I'm sorry. If its any comfort to you, my vet told me that dogs with heart problems can live on their medications for several years. Its been sort of a game trying to find the right dosage of medication for Peka, but I think we've got it now. She's comfortable and happy even though her condition is severe.Quote:

Thanks, aly, that's encouraging. He is so young.
You are in my Christmas prayers, sweet Bandit. You couldn't be in better hands. Please God, let help him to heal and give his parents strength. Love and hugs to you sweet boy. Sandra, Star and Cody.
Bandit is back from the echocardiogram which showed an irregular heartbeat. He will be having a 12 lead ECG done later this afternoon. He now has a team of doctors working on him. He is carrying about a half a gallon of liquid in his chest. There is no diagnosis yet. The tests continue.
Poor Bandit!
He's in my thoughts. I hope the vets can give him some relief soon.
It isn't looking good for Bandit. They are fearful that there is an inoperable tumor near his heart. The specialists will be seeing him again tomorrow to put a tube in. They have also ordered a monitor to watch his heart (like a Holter) from Florida which won't arrive for two weeks
They said that if this problem wasn't discovered, he would have been dead in two months. He may still not make it. They are not sure what the cause is.
Oh Sue, this is heartbreaking; not the news we were all hoping for:( I know your parents are doing everything possible to save their beautiful Bandit boy. Perhaps the vets, and the powers that be, have a miracle up their sleeves. I will be keeping your family and Bandit in my prayers, hoping for the best. I can't bear to think of such a beautiful, young doggie, who has so much living and loving to do, losing this battle. {{{hugs}}}

Dear Sue:
I do hope the vets can find a way of solving dear sweet Bandit's problems. My prayers and best wishes for a complete recovery are going your way.
Thank you for your prayers. We do need a little miracle here. All the best vets are team treating him. They are doing whatever possible for him.
Today the catheter was placed near the heart and the readings were taken. (I'm not at all sure what I am talking about here. I am not familiar with this area). Yesterday they said that if the reading was in the 80's or less, it was not good. The readings yesterday were in the 80's. Today's test was 90. The 90-100 range is not good, but not horrible like in the 80's. Like I said, I don't know what I am talking about here because it is from what my parents told me, I was not there to ask my 1000 questions as usual. So, the tests continue. Monday some results are expected in. They got a little more fluid out of his chest again today. They can't treat him yet because the team of doctors still doesn't know what is wrong with him. He has difficulty breathing at times.
