I think both breeds are awesome, but at my age I would prefer the chihuahua definitely because I love to pick up my furkids an have them in my lap. If I tried that with a GD I would be in the hospital! I also think chis often get a bad rap just as pit bulls do. You can't judge a whole breed by a few. ;)
One girl at my church used to take her chi with her on Sundays. She would lay in her lap and listen to the sermon and was just precious. Try that with a Great Dane! LOL!

Chihuahuas have huge personalities and they are not yappy little lap dogs like some people think. They are awesome pets and so much fun to be around

i'de say great dane, even though chi's are really cute, i like bigger dogs. :)
