We took Fister to the hospital at 10 o'clock. The plan was to entice him to the kitchen and close the door to get him in the box, so I rattled with his dry food, but he got suspicious at the very last moment and went under the bed - so I had to take the hoover out. That worked, but he ran into a little store room where John could corner him. He let out a terrific heartbreaking howl and peed all over the floor in fright. :(
Last night, he was SO sweet, he played with the ball in our bedroom. This morning he was up rolling in the bed with John, proudly showing off his tummy. It's SO hard to do this to him, but unfortunately necessary.
Well, when we came out to the hospital, they said, they won't operate him until tomorrow - poor Fister, he had starved all night, to no avail. We spoke to a nice vet and gave him the paper with all the info on Fister. He said we can ring from Spain tomorrow and hear how it went, and you bet we will!!
Please keep your fingers and everything crossed for him tomorrow! :)
Randi and John,
I can imagine how hard this decision has been for you both. Fister will never know the difference once the plumbing starts working. I hope his recovery is quicker than poor Boots' was and I trust it will be!
Relax knowing that Fister will be in good hands while you are gone and that you will probably come home to a happy guy!
Good luck Fister!
Oh Fister! How is it they always "know" something is going to happen???
Bad analogy but it is like your hair --- always look good the day you have an appointment to get it cut off -- Fister being such a sweet guy last night!
Maybe he just wants to make sure you think of him while you are gone!
My thoughts are will be with all three of you!
Our prayers are with you sweet Fister!! Randi, John, have a safe trip. I know how hard this is for you but is sounds like Fister is in wonderful hands. Hugs to you both and try to enjoy your trip! Love, Sandra, Oliver and Mr. B
Oh poor Fister. :( Yes, how do they always know? Be good, Fister boy, and you'll be back home before you know it. :)
