Oooh, pretty tortie girl! Glad you changed the title to say you added the photo.
How could anyone resist that pretty kitty girl? You are doing the right thing.
Ok she is actually 19 years old. She just turn 19 in Aug. 2011.
Sorry the person who related the information to me did it incorrectly. I spoke with the vets and they told me she's 19 yrs old right now.
Age is just a number. She's an oldie but goodie and she's ALL MINE!!!!
Oh what a pretty girl she is! It's wonderful that you take her, and she will hopefully adjust fine.
Thanks to you, Donna, and all involved. :)
What a beautiful girl Thank you Donna. If she dose not get to you this week end. I will make sure that she will next. Sorry I have to be in Milwaukee this week end.
John,
Don't apologize. I can't take her this weekend anyway, as I will be at a pet sitting job till Monday. I want to be home with her. Have fun in Milwaukee!!!
I cannot improve on "God bless you" for your compassion. There has been such sad news lately - Jack, BeeBop, Mystic, and more - that I needed some happy news to warm my chilled heart. Thank you!
Where in PA are you? I might be able to help w. transport; I'm in southern York County, very near the MD line.
Oh bless you, Donna. I seriously considered taking her myself but I was concerned about the long ride at age 25. Now I see she's 19. Well, she's got a good home w/you. She's entitled to live out the rest of her life in peace and comfort. What a sweet, pretty girl she is and you're a special girl, too, Donna.
Don't bless me yet.
After MUCH consideration, and after speaking at length with Melissa, I've decided it is not in my cat's best interest to introduce another cat.
Sandy has chronic bladder problems and fleas. I am VERY hesitant bringing another cat in with fleas, as I had a HUGE problem with them in the past, and it took me months to get rid of them. Mollie Rose almost died from them. My gut feeling tells me her bladder problems are an underlying problem of kidney issues.
As a dear friend recently told me, "There comes a time when you have to say, 'I'd like to but I can't' " Unfortunately, this is one of those times. :(:(
I feel very badly about this. But I have to do what is best for my present crew. I know Melissa will find her a furrever home. :(:(
I just want everyone to know that Sandy was treated for fleas by her owner on Nov. 1st and it was called Hot Spot brand by Zodiac and it's a very bad flea medication to give your cats, esp. a 19 year old cat.
Due to her age, we have to wait a full 3 weeks in order to give her anymore flea medication.
I have revolution at home ready to give to her after 3 full weeks have gone by. All of my cats have flea medication on them and they are protected and Sandy got a bath this past weekend and I've been keeping up with flea combing her and she doesn't have any now.
Donna - I think that you have made the right decision. Everyone knows how much you care about animal's health and welfare, but you already have a full plate with the crew that you have. To bring in another - well - that might be bordering on reckless. You need to think of yourself and your crew first, before adding another kid to worry about. I know it's difficult to be practical sometimes, and your heart can overrule your head, but yes - sometimes you just have to say "enough is enough". This is exactly why I could never foster - I would be a huge failure! I'm certain that Melissa will do everything in her power to find someone to take this senior lady into their home for the remainder of her days. And I still will say "bless you" - just for even considering giving this kitty a place to spend the rest of her life.
