Has the Post Office endorsed #OWS?
This thread hasn't shown that at all.
You have no idea what I've done or how long I've worked.
What this thread shows is how easy it is to stroke one's own ego and paint with broad brushes.
First, I had no idea what in hell you were talking about with the hash tag. I don't twitter, facebook, etc.
Second, "The Postal Union" doesn't exist.
BTW, what's the biggest failure a leader can make, Puck.......Leadership 101, think about it....
Why 70 hour weeks should never exist for competent business leaders, and why there should be no reason whatsoever to be connected 24/7/365 for business purposes.
No hash tag was intended my apologies. #OWS=Occupy Wall Street. ETA: I dont twitcher, Facepalm, etc, either. Again sorry for confusing Luddites, and yourself.
You are Union, correct? You work for the Post Office, correct? The Union you are a part of, that works for the Post Office exists, the name of it doesnt matter.
Given that:
1) The IS an International Postal Union, which goes by that name (but isn't probably what you think it is)
2) There are at least 6 Unions/associations which represent Postal employees (not counting teamsters contract carriers, etc)
3) Each Union is made up of Locals, each with their own executive boards, and each executive board has their own voice
The terminology does matter.
Awesome!

You are beholden to a union, how does that make you free?
How am I "beholden" to anyone?
I am a member in a Union. I'm also an officer in a Union.
None of which makes me "beholden" to the union for anything.
I understand completely what the word means.
I'm still trying to understand how a Union member is anymore "beholden" to anyone than a non Union member?
I rely on my Union to get what I get?
Entschuldigen zie bitte?
The Union didn't teach me the skills to get the job, didn't take the test for me, didn't go to interviews for me.
You purposely are failing to understand. I'm not being obtuse at all, I'm being clear as crystal.
I'm not beholden to them for anything. It so happened that a job I wanted was a Union represented job in a business which I have found much to my displeasure desperately needs a Union or Unions (look up the great postal strike and the reasons for it........).
There is work outside the postal service, there is life outside the postal service. It is a means to an end, not the end itself.
