Cookie
I bet you look like an Oreo Cookie with your black and white coloring don't you? I'm so glad you found a wonderful loving family. Being in the wild with no claws is a dangerous thing for a kitty. Hard to hunt and no protection. How lucky are you that you found a new forever home! Congratulations on being our special Cat of the Day.:)

Orea Cookie Baby, you melted the warm hearts of your Humans who rescued you, and all of our hearts today!!!! Awesome close-up photography done on you--truly capturing your mischief and content expression, your shiny fur and those gorgeous eyes!!!! You look just like you're saying to the camera, "Bet you don't know I have some white spots hidden, hee, hee!" I've really enjoyed reading through 3 threads now today about you--wow, what a Star!!!!! Congratulations, and have a SWEET Cookie Day!!!! :) :D  ;) :p

What a gorgeous face!!! Oh, Cookie, in true Tux style, it didn't take but a moment, ok, maybe a little chicken, to capture the love and devotion of your Mommy and Daddy, did it??:D I think perhaps a higher being had a hand in arranging this serendipitous union!! And you've certainly captured the hearts of all of us kitty lovers here today, as well! Congratulations to you and your proud parents, Cookie! Now, get your motoring runnin, Cookie!! Today we crown you our stunning Cat of the Day! I wish for you and your proud family 20 PLUS years of shared love, laughter and happiness!!

Okay, I'll show my age here, but even before your picture appeared and just your name showed up I started chanting, "Cookie, Cookie, lend me your comb...".
What a sweet cookie you are. It's a pleasure to celebrate you on your special day. Hope you get lots of loving and that you start to feel secure enough to purr very soon, sweet Cookie!

You are the sweetest Cookie I've ever seen! I love those white whiskers on your black fur. And those green eyes are to die for! Cookie, you have a special talent for healing humans with hurting hearts. You are beautiful inside and out. Happy COTD to you!

They say purring is a type of communication for kitties, I bet Cookies is good at some other types of communication. Juni is lousy at fawning upon my legs, I know so many cats that do it 1 million times better than her.

Cookie - purring
We got our "Diva" from the Humane Society nearly 7 years ago and she just started to purr in the past couple of years. She remained so afraid of everything for such a long time, but she has finally relaxed and let herself purr. We've been very patient and we scratch under her chin, give her treats and speak to her in loving tones. She still hates being picked up and will not stay if you try to sit down while holding her.
I think all cats will eventually purr, once they feel completely safe. Purring is an involuntary reaction, so don't be offended - she's not withholding. She may just need more time and love in order to become completely calm.
BTW, our Diva looks just like Cookie - sleek, smart and beautiful! Congrats on your gorgeous Cookie! Lucky kitty!

Great Pic!!
As usual, I studied my Cat of the Day at work, so couldn't post my appreciation. But here it is, Friday night, and I can't let it slip by without letting you know what a sweetie you are and how much I enjoyed seeing you on my screen at work yesterday (yes, I "wallpapered" with you!) Many happy treats today, too, and headbonks from a distant Tuxie cousin, Grasshopper!!!
