Nothing I have seen said they were "worried" about it, it was just an interesting piece of data. It's still in Beta, and by invitation only, so the membership is obviously going to be geek-skewed for the time being!
And I post that statement as an admitted geek who is most assuredly female.

I still haven't checked it out, it tells me to update my browser. I'm pretty happy with what I have, so will have to think about it.
One +1 of Google+ over Facebook is you can share or post to different circles rather then everybody. I can share with both off roading groups or just one, or I can share to both Pet groups or just one. You can stream to every circle or some or just one. It has "hangouts" for video chats.
