On a cold winter's day
Light streaming through the window
Strikes the glass pitcher, and is captured
Old fruit glows with new warmth
And the pear, golden and resting on the table
Absorbs the sunshine in its golden flecked skin
Promising ripe sweetness, and
A mouthful of memories
Chin-dripping and softly mellow
Like winter light captured
In a glass pitcher and
Sun-warmed wood
Thank you everyone for your comments! :)
Karen, you did it again, what a wonderful poem! Your words are reflecting the atmosphere I was hoping to "transport" with my picture. And you described the pear perfectly, it was exactly like this! :) I love pears! lol
Kirsten....
Wonderful photos! What type of camera do you use? It and you sure do capture some great photos!
Wow, I love the one of the woman walking through the canopy of trees!
Kirsten you really need to share the Eternal Tear...that's my all time favorite!
@BarbPond: I'm using a Canon EOS 450D, and my favorite lens is a Tamron 60mm macro lens... Used that one for most of the pictures I've posted here.
@Mary: Took that one ion Goettingen the other day where I had to apply for my disability pension.
@Anna: okay, here it is: :)

Sinuous lines in verdant green
A ripple captured
Veins angled for sunlight
Photosynthesis sizzles
Silently humming
With life
Another beautiful poem of yours, Karen! :) "Silently humming with life"... I like that, it's like a foretaste of the coming spring. :)
