Keep it up & keep it positive. Soon they'll understand that its "ok" to hold strange objects in their mouth when mommy says so. But touching the object otherwise is a no no.

I got her to hold a little Colman Lantern (battery powered) for about 2 seconds. i took a picture of it a while ago.. but she was holding her head down as she was unsure of what I was asking.. But that was a great 2 seconds!! hehe :D

ROFL! Digi's ears say it all. When do you get to use the computer?:D
