I'm glad to hear all is alright as of yet. Keep us updated. We don't like our doggies being in pain. :(
That was some relieving news :)
Hi Karen, sorry, I just now am seeing this. I am very relieved to hear the news that she is just about where she needs to be enzyme wise! I will keep miss Logan in my prayers, and please give the pretty girl a kiss and treat for me!:)
Good news and what a relief. :D Please give lovely Logan a kiss and hug from me.
WHEW is right. Good news.
Here's an update.
Logan's been on an antibiotic since last week. She's still drinking a lot but her nightly wake-me-ups have reduced to 1 or 2. She doesn't seen herself. I know we've been gone a lot during the day, but that never affected her..she gets the big bed all day. She did pee once by the inside back door, which was a first ever. She seems listless somehow. She'll still runs after critters and patrols the yard.
Problem....Tuesday night (tomorrow), she has to fast after midnight. She's having her eye surgery on Wednesday. I just don't know how I'm going to ignore her request for water at night. I'm going to ask for an Xray or MRI also on her adrenelan and pituitary gland to check for the Cushings.
She's always been so healthy. It feels like she's not herself so quickly. Too bad she hates the camera so much. I wish I could post constant pictures of her. She really is a darling.
Be sure to keep the bathroom door closed and/or toilet lid down. I had to remove Louie's water last week and woke up in the night to hear him having a good slurp from the toilet. Something he had never done before.
Good luck with the eye surgery.
I'm sorry to hear Logan hasn't been feeling herself. Hope its not cushings and she'll be back to her old self soon.
Well, Logan has a small eyelid growth removed from her right lower eyelid and a conjunctival growth from her left lower lid. That growth has been sent for a biopsy and I'll know if all is OK in about a week.
She's scheduled for a low dose dexamethasone test next week to check if she has Cushings. I bring her in at 9a for bloodwork, take her home, bring her back 4 hours later and repeat 4 hours later. I chose this method rather than keep her in a cage for 8 hours.
Yesterday night (Tuesday) was murder. Just as I feared, Mz. L kept us awake from 1a to 7a, whining, barking, "talking", pacing, panting for water. It was the worse night of our lives. Nothing we did calmed her. I didn't want to close the door on her. I felt so bad although it was necessary. It's so hard to explain to a dog that she has to fast!
She's still groggy, She has 1 stitch on her eye and it doesn't seem to bother her. I took of the "lamp shade". She has no appetite yet. I know she'll be herself by tomorrow, but you all know that it's just pathetic to see our babies out of sorts. "Sigh".
Thanks for for good thoughts. I'm still nervous about the Cushings, but I will deal with it any way I have to in order to extend her life.
You might want to re-think the No Lamp Shade for the overnight periods!
As the drugs wear off, the eyes might start to *itch*!
And eyes are VERY easy to *rub* with a front paw!
I doubt you'll hear her say
"MOM, I'm gonna *rub* the crap outta my eye fur a while; Izzat OK?"
Better to just put up with a Pouty Dawg IN the Lampy Shade!
Sorry to hear she kept you up all night. Must have been terrible for all of you.
Many good thoughts coming your way.
Thx Phred...I thought of that dis afternoon before I read your post.. She'll be with us all weekend, lampshade in tow. You're so right..itchies during healing..who hasn't experienced it? Thanx, Thanx, Thanx for the remindeeeer!!!! (slaps self on head!_
