Oh, good luck, and do keep us posted! What size is the little guy? I know an older couple that will be looking for a small dog after next weekend - they have a lot of company coming, so want to wait until the fuss and bother is over before bringing a new dog home. If you were closer, I'd call them tomorrow, but I bet there are lots of folks who would want him!

Well, that is a pic of the little guy after a bath, looks much better :p He slept all night in the kennel with not even a peep out of him. I just know someone will want this little guy. So far he hasn't pottied in the house or tried to tear anything up. And I'm with you Karen, I think an older couple would be great. He really wants to be a lap dog. If the people you know would be interested, let me know. I'm thinking he's maybe around 6 mos or so. Look at this!

If anyone out there or anyone would want this sweetheart, please let me know! Here's one more cute pic.

Anna thankfully these dogs decided to cross your path. I shudder to think what might have happened to them if you hadn't been there. They are both so sweet looking! I can't imagine that their humans aren't just wringing their hands. The first one reminds me a little of our own K9Karen's Cody. Karen, are you reading, wouldn't Cody like a sibling? :) The second one I would guess, like someone else has said, is maybe a terrier/lhaso mix? He is just a little doll. If you lived closer I do think that Bella might have a brother. Please do keep us posted as to how this all works out. Somehow I am thinking that your family might be on the verge of "growing." It sounds like Angus has given the little guy the seal of approval. Gosh, sharing his hedghog! Now that's just the sweetest thing!

I showed their pictures to a woman at work, who is gonna be in Philly this week, and might know a home that needs one of those boys ...

It's so great of you to try to help these dogs, Anna!! :)
To me, the little one looks like a schnauzer mix....I bet if you gave him the typical schnauzer cut he'd look a lot different! Hope you can find him a home! Wish I knew somebody who would take him.

Like Amy said, the little one looks as if he has lots of Schnauzer in him. These are both two good looking dogs.
-
Maybe you should post about him in Jackie's Community, For The Love of Dogs http://communities.msn.com/FORTHELOVEOFDOGS/ There's tons of schnauzer lovers there!! :)

Hi Anna,
I just called up my friend. She lives in Reading, PA and she fell in love with the puppy! She's really looking for a dog for her 3 kids. She's WILLING to drive from Pennsylvania to Ohio to pick up the puppy. But she could only do it on weekend. PM me so I could get your contact info , or you could send me an e-mail.... I'm soo excited and so is my friend...
You're an angel for taking care of these 2 dogs.. Hope the other dog may soon find his forever home... I love him too...

Oh this is so exciting! I hope everything works out for these boys! The little one definitely looks like a schnauzer to me too! (Has Jackie seen this yet?)
Thank you so much Anna and Mark, for helping them! You are a sweetheart!

Well, I've found a home for the little guy. When I went to work this morning I brought a couple of pictures & one of the guys I work with said him & his partner were looking for a little dog & he would take him:) . So he is off to his new forever home. He won't be alone as they have other playmates for him (a cat & a springer spaniel)! I'm sure he will be well taken care of & I made sure that if anything goes wrong that they will bring him back to me (& they also said if someone were to call claiming the pup they would give him back). So now, I just have to worry about finding a good home for the retreiver. Wish me luck & thanks again everyone!

Ok, a girl I used to work with moved down the street from us & came over to visit tonight. I told them about the dogs & her daughter said she thought she knew who they belonged to, so I showed her the pics & she said she had seen them & knew who the owners are. She said the retreiver had almost been hit by the school bus before. She also said she'd seen them in the road quite a few times.
So I went to the house, but noone was home. I put a flyer in their mailbox. I kinda hate knowing these people might be their owners & that they don't take care of their dogs. I know the little guy will have a good home, but I still worry about the retreiver. I didn't say he was at the shelter, I thought I'd wait for them to call & see what they have to say. If they even want them or not. I really didn't want to tell them, but I guess I thought I should.
What do you think?

I think you definitely did the right thing Anna. You went to their home and left the flyer. I'm sure if they are truly concerned they will contact you, though like you, I'm not sure back to that home is where these guys should go! You've done such a terrific job "saving them," helping to find these precious ones loving, safe homes. If the owners do come to claim them, I think I would discuss with them the accusations that you've heard and I would contact animal control and explain the situation with her/him to make sure these people are checked up on. Do you have leash laws in your area? Do people get citations for violations? Here, after one warning, it's a 50.00 fine and you have to go bail your pup out the shelter; another 50.00! Thanks so much for having such concern and love for the doggers.
