OK, I understand now. And I guess you told Karen what your vet said...which is good, because she'll have a bit more to discuss with her vet.

Prayers for Dmitri!
I just got a message from Karen. She spoke with another vet about the repair surgery, and the vet said that it has a HIGH FAILURE RATE which the other vet failed to tell her (why am I not surprized) so, she is going with the amputation. Once he's discharged, I'll be fostering him and will try to find a furrrever home for this very special kitty.
Thanks again everyone for your support, and generous donations. We could not have done it without you!! Keep those PT prayers coming.
:love::love: and (((((Hugs))))))
Donna, Karen and furkids
:) Like I said I have never heard good news on the repairs of pins & ect.. I know Vets are to be honest = But however keep in mind they are out to make money.. Well good on things working out.. You will see Donna & just fall in love with this baby being a tripod.. Now with YarYar I do have to pitch in & help her scratch the side with out the back legg..
PT Prayers for Dmitri! He sounds like a sweet cat. I hope the surgery goes smoothly and he enjoys a wonderful recovery at your place, Donna. Hopefully he will have pain patches and not pills, so he will be comfy while you are at work.
{{{{hugs}}}}
Donna I'm glade that you have this baby I know that Dmitri will get the best of care. I did send some money too the vet Please make sure that it goes for Dmitri and let me know if there is any thing I can do.
All are prayers are with Dmitri and you.
Thanks John. I'll let you know the minute I hear anything.
Dimitri is out of surgery and doing very well. They tested him and he's negative for Aids and Leukemia AND, while he was under anesthesia, they neutered him!!
The vet tech that assisted in the surgery said that amputation was the best thing because he was injured far worse than the x-rays showed.
Karen is going to visit him tonight on her way home and he'll be discharged on
Saturday. He's on injectable pain meds too.
I'm relieved it's over. He can now concentrate on healing. When he woke up from the surgery, he was PURRING!!!!!!
We've contacted the media and hopefully they'll give this some much needed publicity.
Thanks again for all your prayers and support everyone! PT members are the BEST!!!!
:love: Aw, the sweet little boy. I'm so glad that he came through the surgery ok. Now it's time for healing and he gets to do some of that at your house, Donna. Lucky kitty! As soon as you are able, could you post some pix of Dimitri? I almost said that if transport was available, I'd take him but I just can't do it. I can't let emotion rule. It's just that, when I read of his amputation, it reminded me of my Puddy and how she almost had her leg amputated at 5 weeks old. But he's w/one of the best PTers around, girl! :love:
I am so glad that it went well. Sounds like a tough little cookie. Let me know if you need help finding a home.
I'm glad to hear Dimitri's surgery went well. I'm sorry I do not have anything to donate, or I would. :(
Years ago we had a cat, named DC, who was hit by a car. We did the whole pin in the leg thing and he lived for several years just fine and he was still an outside cat (not my choice, I was only a child back then). The funny thing is DC stood for Dumb Cat. Yeah, well he's not so dumb after all, to be hit by a car and live.
I can't wait to hear of Dimitri recovering and get to see pictures of him. hint hint ;)
:love::love: Hupp Hurraa = You Go Go wittle Dude Dimitri.. You will be just fine & do great on your threess.. Many Congrats on surgery going good.. I know dont panic wittle one the first time you try to raise your legg & see your numss nummss gone.. Its all for the best.. Dont tell know one but I hope Donna falls in love with you & keeps you..
I have this gut feeling young Dimitri is going to capture Donna's heart if not already and might indeed be added to the furr posse.:love::)here's wishing this sweet boy a speedy recovery and lots of healing with no pain.
Taz Zoe,
Please, do not feel bad. I'm very strapped myself and couldn't send much. I'm hoping that any publicity he does get will help financially as well finding him a furrever home.
John,
If you know anyone who can take this precious special needs kitty, please let me know. Not sure yet when he'll be coming to my house. Maybe Sunday or sometime during the week. I'll let you know.
I'm ready to give him all the love and TLC he needs to heal. I got news for you guys...I'm already in love!!!:love::love::D
