CONGRATULATIONS LIZ!!!
What wonderful news! I'm sure Buddy is very happy to know that you have found a new friend, and his spirit is in your house, all around you and the puppy, enjoying the adventures of the two of you.:)
Can't wait to see pictures.

Thanks Everyone. This little guy is very smart & I truly think
he's a "keeper" for sure. I will start with the pictures this
evening, just can't wait for you to see my sweetie pie.(Proud
Momma).
I believe I probably made a mistake starting this thread in
Dog Health, but I didn't realize which area I was in when I
started the post. I had just finished reading Trisha0503's
posting of "A Simple Message From Your Pet" posted for
Darin in the loss of Blanca. Something about that beautiful
poem
" You live in our hearts as we do in yours.
Companions such as you are very rare and unique.
Don't hold the love that you have within yourself.
Give it to another like me and then I will live forever.
For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as we are. "
Your pet in heaven.
That passage brought tears to my eyes, but really does
express exactly how I feel about Buddy and me. He will
never leave my heart, & I do feel his presence , his spirit
will always be with me. Bud would want me to be happy & to share my love with another pup. Love really never dies. How
true... Liz & Smokey.:)

Oh, dear, sweet, friend Liz. Sue has said it all so perfectly!! I am happy, happy, happy beyond words!! What joy to have a new life scampering about your feet, chewing on your toes!!:D I think Buddy is smiling down from the Bridge right now, so pleased that his loving, generous Mom has opened her heart and her home to this precious life.:) And I know that seeing that smile on your face makes him happiest of all! I wish I could give you a HUGE hug!!!! But please, DO give that little guy one for me!! I can't wait to see his sweet face!! Love, Sandra

Oh Liz,
I remember crying while reading your story with Buddy... I felt your pain... and now that you've got SMOKEY, I'm so happy for you and for this furbaby, knowing that he's very lucky for having a wonderful Mom like you.... Buddy's special place in your heart can NEVER be replaced, but it can be SHARED with other furbaby like SMOKEY...
Someone had e-mailed me this poem... it came from rainbowbridge@BUDDY .COM
:) :) :)
MAKE ROOM IN YOUR HEART
Sorrow fills a barren space;
you close your eyes and see my face
and think of times I made you laugh,
the love we shared, the bond we had,
the special way I needed you -
the friendship shared by just we two.
The day's too quiet, the world seems
older,
the wind blows now a little colder.
You gaze into the empty air
and look for me, but I'm not there -
I'm in heaven and I watch you,
and I see the world around you too.
I see little souls wearing fur,
souls who bark and souls who purr
born unwanted and unloved -
I see all this and more above -
I watch them suffer, I see them cry,
I see them lost, I watch them die.
I see unwanted thousands born -
and when they die, nobody mourns.
These little souls wearing fur
(Some who bark and some who purr)
are castaways who - unlike me -
will never know love or security.
A few short months they starve and
roam,
Or caged in shelters - nobody takes
home.
They're special too (furballs of
pleasure),
filled with love and each one, a
treasure.
My pain and suffering came to an
end,
so don't cry for me, my person, my
friend.
But think of the living - those souls
with fur
(some who bark and some who purr)
-
And though our bond can't be broken
apart,
make room for another in your home
and your heart.
Big hugs from me and MISSY!!:)

Boy has he landed himself in a great home or what?! I remember those days of chewed up feet and chewed up shoes. :) Just like the others, I am looking forward to lots of pictures and stories!!!
Rosebel that poem was simply beautiful and such a sweet thing to post here. I am printing it out right now.

This poem has made me cry when I read it.. I think any poem that pertains to losing a pet always brings tears into my eyes...
This poem is very fitting for LIZ, BUDDY and SMOKEY... It even made me cry while reading when I look at BUDDY'S picture at Liz' signature.. I could hear him reciting this poem to Liz...
I'm so excited to see SMokey's picture! I'm longing for that day where we could see 2 pictures under Liz's signature....
I could see Buddy smiling at her Mom ;) ;)

Liz, I'm so glad you chose Smokey...it allows my Smokey to live on through yours (at least in my mind).
I can't wait for pictures!! Hurry Hurry!!
