Karen I'm glad you got to spend some time with Jean and Denver. I just can't believe the position that her daughter is taking. So many elderly people improve with a dog in their lives. She will see that very quickly her mother loses ground and maybe even her desire to live after Denver leaves for the bridge. I hope that doesn't happen and that she will have a change of heart in the meantime. Prayers going up for Denver and Jean that there is still some quality time left for them. Next time you see him give him a kiss on his little puggily nose for me.

Many prayers for Jean and Denver.

Yep, that's what the poor sweetie has been diagnosed with..... :(

More prayers for Denver on the way.

Are they going to do anything to help him overcome the Pancreatitis? Since your note was so short, I guess not. Hope Denver and Jean are doing well today.

I hope this daughter, when she sees the effect the Denver's departure has on her mom, will rethink the no pets idea.
It might be an idea for Jean to ask her doctor's opinion - in case the daughter is ever in touch with the doc.
Sheesh...not like the daughter has to look after the dog!
Any ultrasound results? I hope Denver can be comfy and stay around for a while. He sure sounds like a sweet boy! :)

Yup..he's on a special diet and absolutely NO people food. Now the vet wants him to gain some weight back. Personally, I think he looks better than ever. I saw him the other day again (I take Jean to all her doctor appointments) He was thrilled to see me and his widdle tail is back in it's curly Q. He'll let people IN the house but not OUT, so I always have a pug attached to my ankle! He is so adorable. I'm trying to get a picture.
It's not that Jean's family doesn't care. They love Denver. But, as Jean said to me..they aren't ANIMAL people. You know, like PTers! They are not all consumed. Or fanatical. You all know what I mean.
Jean always insists on paying the vet bills too. That's how much she loves him. She refuses any vet insurance reimbursement too. She's a lovely lady. I hope Denver sticks around for many more years. He's only 8 or 9.

Karen, I'm sorry I didn't see this thread until today. It breaks my heart. Poor Jean. I think she should come live with you.

I hope Denver will be alright. It's too bad Jean's family can't see how good pets are for her. Even if they're not pet people, you'd think they'd put Jean first, you know? Anyway, I hope Denver lives a long life with Jean. He sounds like a dog with lots of personality.
