DAD might not think too much of the idea, though.
Maybe ride over with Tubby & Peanut's Tribe ... can Nebo & Keva handle riding
wiffa Kat Kids in the Big Bus?
There might be a lil "detour" through Chicago on the way over or back ... but it'd be a Nice Ride!
:D
If you're detouring through the Windy City ... There's a nice off-leash dog park in Oakbrook, which is west of Chicago -- it's on Illinois 83 at 31st Street, at the Mayslake Forest Preserve. I have a friend at church who takes her dogs there. There's also Wiggly Field ... which is near Wrigley Field at Sheffield south of Diversey in Chicago. (The official name for the park is Noethling Playlot.)Quote:

How many dogs show up for this event. I'm thinking about getting some special doggie treats http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...th/dogbone.gif to bring, and want to know how many to plan for.
true story! :DQuote:

Keep an eye on this thread about 2 weeks before the Bash on Memorial Day Sunday -
that's when folks start to get serious about attending.
"Special Dawggie Treets" are always enjoyed - but most of the Gobblers hardly
take time to 'taste' anything - they just <grab> & <gulp> then rush back into line
to <grab> another one. Smaller *Byte Sized* treets are easier to <gulp> fast!

Thanks, Phred, for the info. Guess I'll just buy a big bag of small http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...th/dogbone.gif and let them at it!!
It's the sure way to popularity at the Dog Park, that's for sure! ;)
I'm hoping to make it this year, if I can find someone to tag along. I'd like to bring 3 dogs, but who knows. :)
My sister, Judy, said she *might* come campin' with us, and bring her chocolate lab, Ben!!
OK, I'm just going to put this out there and see what response I get.
I was at my local BCAA today and picked up a map of Ohio and spoke to them about flights. I can get a return flight to Dayton for only $505.00 (incl. all taxes) which is pretty cheap in comparison to what I am finding myself online. I'm still not sure about transportation and accommodation but that will come later. I'm totally up to renting a car and staying in hotel.
I have to weigh how important this is to me because it's alot of money to spend for just one day. However, if I could somehow spark a "mini-gathering" on the Monday with one or two or a few PTers, it would be so worth it. How about it? At this point I'm not sure where and I absolutely respect that some of you are several hours drive away so I'll understand if this is not possible, but I have my hopes up.:)
Thoughts???
you know I'm up for whatever I can do that doesn't interfere with my work schedule! ;) and that could even be slightly flexible if needed.
((hugs))
Maybe Monday morning ... but then after that we have a long drive home. We drive all day Saturday and stay that night and then stay Sunday night.
