Good day everyone! I've been busy all day taking down my tree, lights and ornaments and packing them up for another year.
**sigh**
I just hate this. The lights are so pretty they are not to be seen tonight.:(
But the good thing is the days are getting longer and before we can turn around twice, it will be spring and all of Momo's flowers will be in bloom.
So for tonight I think I'll just sit back and watch the crowd, maybe with a glass of wine in hand.

Think Spring, Slick, and pass the onion rings!!! ;)
Spring, Onion rings and "you can't buy a thrill"!
DONE!
I'll have some of those onion rings, but I'll also make a large pot of chai for those still in winter mode - shoveled about 8-10 inches of "toothpaste snow" today, so everything is still snow-covered and lovely, but the driveway and stairs and one car are clear. The other car needn't move anytime soon anyway ...
In case you are wondering, "toothpaste snow" is heavier than "snowman snow" and sticks to absolutely everything. You can still make a snowman out of it, but you'd better have help to lift one section onto the next if you make it any decent size - it's that heavy. Any heavier and it'd be "heart attack snow," but that's so heavy it doesn't stick to branches very long, its own weight pulls it off, or the branch down.
Example attached, do not click to view if you are trying very hard to think spring!
I talked to my niece tonight and it was a SNOW DAY - AS IN YIPPEE - NO SCHOOL!! She went sledding the majority of the day.
Before dropping by the bar I had a yummy homemade turkey pot pie - so I am a bit stuffed right now - just dropped in to say hello to everyone.
Nice to see the fire going.........everyone seems very relaxed and happy.
"Toothpaste snow" LOL! We call "heart attack snow" wet cement.
:) :p Oh Oh You All I Am Still Waiting For Some Snow Here In Texas so dont rubb in all the fun you all are having.. :D
Yeah, that's an alternate name for it - that is certainly what it turns into when a cold snap follows the storm! People who think all snow is fluffy and pretty and stay that way have obviously never slashed a shin trying to maneuver over a frozen-to-cement snow bank!Quote:

We get very little snow here, but two or three years ago we had a fall of about 8 inches of toothpaste snow. A friend of my mum's had had a snowplough come along her road, which was fine so far as the road surface went, but she ended up with a big wall of snow blocking the end of her driveway that had been pushed off the road by the plough. It froze absolutely solid overnight and she ended up having to take a hammer to it to get it shifted.
That's what our city does to my sidewalk that goes to the street. Never mind that I'm disabled and need access to the street to get to the bus. Or that I can hardly dig that out! :(Quote:

I WANT SPRING AND I WANT IT NOW!!! (I know too bad, eh? ;) )
