ES,
Burns would not be able to make any documentaries without the blessing of Hollow wood.
Any indie projects will not get noticed unless they have someone willing to do the distribution.
Look at the struggle "Shooting Micheal Moore" has had. ;)
Most indie producers have to show at film festivals or rent theaters to show their movies.
Hollow wood is too busy giving us the 40 year old virgin, Mr Woodcock and Knocked Up.....Classics!
LH , reserve it at the library on mondayFWIW ;)Quote:

I know a man who was in Europe during WWII.
After a few weeks of being around while I painted his house, he told me a story about working in the motorpool and having to recover a jeep that had broken down.
He went on about being sniped at and shooting the soldier in the tree who was firing at him.
He stopped and got the 'far away look' in his eye.........
I told him that it sounded pretty scary.
I then thought to myself, "Jeez, I wonder what he is thinking."
I guess he knew what I was thinking.
"He is probably still in that tree, I didn't stop to see, we got the heck out of there", he said.

To this day I think about the matter of fact way he told the story. After some more thought, I had to remind myself that this guy was being shot at.
Maybe, in the years since the incident he was able to put the it into perspective.
I don't know, but these men are national treasures and do deserve an audience.
I'm not talkking about the baseball documentary. ;)Quote:
