I have used, and loved, Cal. Natural. They also make the EVO stuff as well, and they have another one out called Karma... thought that was an especially cool name!Quote:

Thanks Jenn! :)
Anyone have a reccemendation for good kitten food? Mine are eating Purina Kitten Chow and I think its pretty safe but its getting scary out there. So far Purina hasn recalled much of anything. Only a few lots of Alpo wet food a long while back. I dont know where they make the food or where they get the grains. There is only corn in this, no wheat or rice. Am I safe to assume that it should be good? I used to buy walmarts special kitty kitten formula but im afraid to now. Its ingrediants, shape and nutrition are identicle to Purina.
I would need something I could get at Petsmart or Pet supplies plus in the Flint region of Michigan.
You can feed the kitten EVO made by Natura Pet. Check out the links in the other posts! My two 1 year old eat it and just clean up!!! GOOD LUCK!!
I still like Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul. You can find a store using the "find a dealer" link on their web site. They make an adult, kitten and lite version of their dry food.

All the ingredients are human grade (fit for human consumption) and they don't use any wheat, rice, etc. fillers.
I bought 2 cans of Innova Humae Ingredient Canned as it was on for 1.89.
Did the Found Cats love the Turkey . chicken and Barley.
I have to get 48 cans before the price goes back to 2.39.
Two Cans were gone in a Found Cat Minute!!
I wish my cats would eat wet food. I have tried Innova, Evo, California Naturals, Eagle Pack, and Evangers. My 2 fur babies are very picky. I found some tuna flakes at Petsmart and used it to entice them to eat wet food. That has helped a lot.

Cal Natural isn't really any more expensive than a premium pet store brand.
Around 85 Cents a small can.
I just ordered some Cal Nat and Innova.
(I've got a giant bag of recalled foods going back to Petco)
:D rosethecopycat-Thanks! I will try this food. Squeak is very finicky. She like fancy feast, but here lately she's decided Chicken of the Sea is for her. I give her tuna only for a special treat, but I think I've ruined her! :D
Pawla, please accept my sincerest sympathy on the passing of your sweet El. Keep him in your heart as he's keeping you in his at the RB.
This whole pet food disaster is causing us to worry about what we put in our pets' dishes. One would think the makers of pet food would be very much aware of how very important our animal companions are in our lives and conduct business accordingly. Where is their quality control? Do they even check out their suppliers? Are they more concerned with the bottom line than assuring us that no effort was spared to guarantee the product is safe for our pets?
