I love the songs and calls of most birds, but doves are definitely one of my favorites to listen to. I also love to hear the loons but unfortunately don't live close enough to a lake to hear them regularly. I did not used to see as many goldfinches but I kept putting out thistle and it just seemed one year they all showed up, and have been coming ever since. We get quite a wide variety of birds here, some come for the water, some for the food, some for the shelter of the trees around the yard. Sometimes we get a cooper's hawk that takes up residence in the yard for awhile looking for an easy meal :eek:Quote:
