This went around some 20 yrs ago , it's just a pyramid scheme and the only ones to make big bucks are the top names...unless you start it. But they are illegal, just dump it.
I remember this type of thing going around when I was in elementary school - and getting told it was illegal way back then - more than 20 years ago!
Actually they can arrest, but NOT without a cause per the US code. I highlighted the parts from the code applicable to this below as well as included the link to the US House of Rep. which has posted the code online.Quote:

Same here....they are old old scams.
I'm 58, and can remember them when I was in school.
I think the people who start these things let them run for a little, and then when the going gets hot they back down and keep it quiet for a while.
They seem to surface maybe once a year.
A lot of people have lost money on them.

Lh....hold on tight...I am coming to your aid!
Arresting people without cause or without warrant...only in Dick Cheney's dreams!
But what I find most.....oh would ironic be the right word???
A couple of you who thought the post with this in it....
was so wonderful! Sending it to all your friends as I recall.Quote:
ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is
based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you!
Now....you are offended by mention of anthrax...while mentioning "going postal!" Well! I am offended by the use of the expression "going postal!"
So there!
I am sorry...you gave up the right to be offended, remember?
And LH...of course you are a bully....so am I. And I think we should be offended that people are suggesting that being a bully is a bad thing.
So there!

STOP! STOP! STOP! PLEASE!
This whole thread started with me. I want to be the one to end it. Karen, please shut this one down. Enough is enough.
Well I am offended by people being offended. Now how would one deal with that :D
Is it just me or are people more easily offended these days? I have seen far worse things said and implied than sending talcum powder in an envelope. I know people that died in car accidents.... should I be offended by jokes about idiot drivers? certainly not. If you are offended I suggest you look away from the thread instead of demanding people conform to your standards. Freedom of speech sucks sometimes don't it.
Edwina's secretary, the fact that we agree on something shall never leave this thread... understood :D lol Thank goodness neither of us is easily offended or we could have some serious issues sharing this board lol
As for mail fraud, LOL a guy on my hubby's hockey team is a postal worker and at christmas a lady sent cookies to her neighbor and just walked over and put them in the mail box with a little note. LOL he took the cookies and left a note for the lady that sent them saying it was illegal to put things in the mail that aren't from the post office.... he later went home and ate the cookies  lol what a guy
Sparks, you think YOU have some explaining to do for agreeing with ES?
I think I just saw a red guy with horns, a pointy tail and cloven hooves skiing by!
I so glad I have converted the two of you. Make sure you toe MY party line from now on! :D :D :D
ES-I want my whole body at your party!
That would be me (check it out in Tigris' Birthday therad at Cat general ;))Quote:
