Most likely, I would keep all of the pets except perhaps Adele, who is very bonded to Eric. However, I know we would have some disputes. He would most likely let me have the corgis, because Marta is defiantly "mine" and Vallis is, too, but I know we would have some issues over Seine and the kitty, Pippin, too. They both prefer me because I feed them and care for them most often, and also give them the most attention. Technically, I "own" all of them since I adopted them all. I wouldn't want to part with any of them!! But thankfully we are not going to split up any time soon! ;)

The cats and fish I'm sure would stay with me. ( hubby does love the cats but not the fish  ) The dogs might be a problem and I would hate to separate them. I guess we'll just have to stay together. ;)

when my parents divorced all pets stayed with us, no question.

The animals should go with whoever they came into the relationship with.

When my ex and I divorced, we had 1 cat and 2 dogs. I kept the cat; he was mine before we married. One dog had been given to me; I took this dog too.
The other dog had been given to my ex, and stayed with him.

I have first hand experience with this one! My ex-girlfriend and I rescued two dogs while we were together, Frankie and Layla. Both of the dogs stayed at her house and were more or less bonded with her and her parents, but Frankie was a tough one because she was very attached to both of us. When we broke up I knew for sure that she would keep Layla and I was alright with that, but losing Frankie was devastating. I had "visitation" rights until our friendship crumbled and then I didn't see her for a few years. When my ex and her current husband had to move into an apartment she called one of our mutual friends and it was setup so that I would get Frankie back because she needs a lot of room and she is not an apartment dog. So now I have Ms. Frankenstein back and all is right with my world. :)
In future a relationship there is no doubt that Frankie and Riley will stay with me no matter what. Jasper, my parrot, will always be mine as well, but that's her choice. ;)

I am not married and never will be but all the animals that were mine before the relationship will be mine and vice versu.

I'm not married, but I put that we would split them up accordingly. When I moved out of my mom's, I left my cat, Caleb. He was mine originally, but my mom wanted him and loved him more so I let her have him. I doubt I could ever part with my dogs that I originally bring in, but they are my babies -- my cats are always more like roomates lol. If I know they will be happier somewhere else, I will be sad but let them go.
