Hope Triskit will get better soon..
Poor girl!! Get better sweetie!! :(
the poor girl! :( I hope she is better soon! is the bullet still in her?? if so, please, please get her to the vet so they can examine her and take it out! I would get her to the vet anyways just to make sure she's A - OK! :)
No there isn't. Apparently the dogs found a hole in the fencing which needs to be fixed but unfortunately we are low on money right now. Here it is illegal to shoot a dog that is running free if it has a collar and/or tags. Even if they are terrorizing livestock.Quote:

You might want to read the actual Oklahoma Laws that pertain to dogs and
dogs running at large - see >>>

I'd suggest you find a way to patch the fence - the next escapee may
not be so lucky! :(

I would be interested to know what the Vet said about her injury & if
he/she put your dog on an antibiotic.
Your state does atleast have a law stating that if a dog is chasing livestock, the owner of the livestock can shoot the dog, and seeing how you weren't with your dog and it was running at large, this may have been what happened. Of course there is still a chance that it could be a hunter but either way your dog was running and it is your job to keep them safe. Maybe your dogs will have to be tied up even in the fenced yard to help keep them safe or maybe you could find a used dog kennal they can stay in when you can't be outside with them. I hope your dog is feeling better and gets checked by the vet.
yeah, same here..Quote:

She's doing great today. She's walking around the yard (still kinda slowly though) She's still a little gripy towards the dogs that get near her behind. But I don't really blame her. She gets her stitches out in a week.
Your dog should be on major antibiotics and pain killers. Not that I am a vet, but a bullet hole in a dog's flank warrants more than just increased iron in his diet. If he lost enough blood to concern the vet, the hole is probably big enough to warrant antibiotics. If he didn't suggest this, I would find another vet.
