No idea what type of sssssnake he is, but he's just gorgeous!
Wow!!! What a ssssssssssurprise!!! I hope it's not poisonous. I really don't like snakes either but he/she does have beautiful markings.:)
I just heard back from the snake expert. He has identified my little visitor as a young Northern Black Racer. I was surprised, as his coloring and markings are not at all what I thought would be a Black Racer. However, upon further investigation of my own, I did find that they are highly patterned and colored as this one is, when they are still young. Also, we did have an adult Black Racer visit our front sidewalk probably a year or more ago! So, it fits! Any way, he / she is not poisonous and will help keep our rodent and insect population under control! ;)
Come to think of it, you did mention that this snake seemed to chase you back to the front door!!!
HUH, A Northern Black Racer!!!! Keep him down there, PLEASE!!! :D
You are pretty brave, I would have screamed my head off! And then after screaming I would've tried to catch it ;) He's cute, and I'm glad you heard back from the 'snake place'. Is he still at your house?
OMG, is he ever beautiful!? I love his eyes, I would let that cute face in anyday. What a cool experience. I love seeing wildlife up close!
Huh, I must never have seen a young Black Racer - I've only seen black ones, not with his pretty pattern! Yup, that's a good snakey to have in your yard, no danger to you, or the kitties!
Have you named him yet? Or is he just "sssssssssnake?" :D
