Yes, I Sincerely believe in "Higher Power"--
If that is "God" , so be it. ( how amazing, and unlikely, was my Birth, without it being a "miracle", right?)And that is WHY, I Believe!!!
I uphold the 10 Commandments,as well as, (The Golden Rule ;) ), and I often reach for the Bible when I am distraught , or lost, or troubled.
I respect all Mankind, and all the life forms that were created and exist on this Planet we call~ Earth.
It is an amazing planet, isn't it? :eek:

Yes, I do believe in the One Almighty God, with absolutely no doubt in my heart. For me, one does not have to see something to believe it. The signs and proofs of existance are sufficient. We cannot see oxygen. We cannot see galaxies far from us. We cannot see carbondioxide. We cannot see cells. We cannot see so many things...but we know they exist. We cannot even see our Pet Talk friends, but know they exist from their posts. ;) Likewise, I do not need to 'see' God to believe in Him. All I need to do is look at myself and think. Think of how my heart functions. Think of how my mind works. Think of how blood flows through every vein, and how every organ works well with the Mercy of God. Think of how I am able to see, smell, hear, taste, feel. All I have to do is see a pregnant woman, and think of how amazing the development of a baby is. From nothing, God makes a whole new human being, inside the womb of his mother. It is amazing, and there is no way all this can take place without God's works. If I look up at the sky and watch the clouds form, the sun rise and set, the stars shine, the moon glowing, I see more and more signs of God's existance, and His power. The planets all circle the sun in their own orbits, none of them going off-track. When I go to the beach and see the powerful ocean, or when I go to the mountains and see the beautiful landscape, it only strengthens my faith in God. Take a plant for example. In the winter, it is barren and lifeless. In the spring, it begins to fill with new leaves and new life. Flowers bloom. Fruit forms. It is amazing. The list could go on and on, but the point is, with the billions of signs all around us, I could never imagine not having faith in God.
Another sign is death. It proves our fragility as human beings. We are born as fragile and helpless babies. Then God gives us strength, and we grow into toddlers, then children, then teens, then adults. As time goes by, we get older and start to return to our fragile state. Then death overtakes us, and we leave this world. Not a single one of us on this planet is strong enough to avoid death, or refrain from dying. No matter how much we may not want to die, we will all die. Hard reality. It will happen to all of us. God, our Creator, is the One who has strength above all other creatures. Our lives are in His hands. He rules everything in the Heavens and in the Earth. When I believe that God is so Powerful, and so Great, and has created everything in this world, and has bestowed all His bounties on us, how ever could I not believe in Him, and not submit myself to Him? I have no doubt in God. Absolutely no doubt.
I do believe God gave human beings the freedom of choice in what we believe, but I do believe we will all have to face consequences for whatever we choose in our actions. People believe many things, but in reality, to every serious question, there is only true answer and many confusions. The answer to 1+1 is 2. It can't be 1, it can't be 3, it can't be 4 or 5 or 6...It can't even be 2.1. The duty of us as human beings is to search for the answer to life and to all of our questions about it before its too late.

I absolutely believe in God. I however no longer attend church. My husband and I both felt we didn't belong there. We didn't like the way our church did things and we decided to leave. We thought we'd find another church but instead we found our relationship with God has been stronger since we haven't been attending church.
I would classify myself as an Agnostic Atheist. So, no. I don't believe in God. Nor do I believe in Satan.
It's my feeling that religion was created as a method for the strong to maintain control over the weak, by threatening the wrath of a diety if they did not obey.
As a result of this, I just can't bring myself to believe in any higher power. I live by my own set of morals, which I may add are much better than the morals (or lack thereof) of some people I know directly involved in my life (I.E. my supervisor, who touts himself off to be a good Christian, but in reality has absolutely no integrity, no moral fibre, and is the biggest hypocrite I've ever met in my life.)
Somewhat yes, and somewhat undecided. I used to go to church from the time I was 1- the occasional time nowadays, but I somewhat believe and somewhat just don't know. I just live life the way it is now and hope for the best.
I think it's pretty darn egotistical for someone to declare to know "The Truth" or "The Way". I believe one should rather say they know "A Truth" or "A Way". If how you are living works for you without harming others you are lucky. Perhaps at a different time you may live differently. Not better. Not worse... just different than how you did. So be it.
Laurie, the words *The Truth* and *The Way* came from the lips of Jesus. In John's Gospel chapter 14 verse 6 Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (Look it up for yourself :) ) If us Christians sound narrowminded that is why. Jesus himself claims He and He alone is the way. It is for everyone to chose for themselves of course, however I choose Him. :)
What always baffles me is that other religions refer to him as a great man. This is a man who claimed to be God. If He isn't God then he must be, as C.S. Lewis once said when trying to explain his conversion to Christianity, a raving lunatic. You can't have it both ways. He is either who he said He is or He is crazy. I believe Him and He is my Lord. :)
My parents are Athiests. My Mom doesn't believe in Heaven or Hell or some Supreme Being....she says when you die, you just die. That's the way I was brought up, but I've been talking to God since I was a little girl. Yes I believe, yes He's been with me through thick and thin and yes He will be with me when I leave this world and yes, I can hardly wait to the see the Kingdom of Heaven, that is, if I'm worthy of going to Heaven. "No pain in Heaven."
I don't need to see proof. I feel Him around me every day and He gives me the strength to beat any challenges that cross my path. He blesses me every day and not a day goes by that I don't thank Him for His love and the love of my friends and family.
...and that's all I've got to say about that. ;)
Yes. My sister has seen him do his magic, that's why. At camp a girl had a huge cancer on her chest. A boy her age went up and prayed and prayed, and when he moved away, the tumor was go, TOTALLY GONE!! so THAT is why I believe in god...
Oh, and also, my sister talks in this wierd language to god... she says its a gift.
In my church the ladies would start screaming and thanking god then would start talking in tounge's weird language's even my mom did it lol.Quote:

I was raised a presbyterian ,however i dabbled in the mormon faith when i was around 18, never did me any harm, and i was in and out of the faith for a few years, however i have not belonged or believed in any faith for many years now, I am not exactly a non-believer, i do believe in a high power, just not sure i call that power god, and i do not attend any church, but i do pray from time to time and live what i call a fairly christian lifestyle.
I don't believe one has to attend church or belong to a particular faith,i do however respect others rights and beliefs to do just that. :)
