In Alberta, you're required to have one (on the rear) and if you want two, then it's up to you. Personally, I think it should be law everywhere to have one on the front and the back..
MI, only the rear. :)
We still have our Oregon plates on the car so it's two for now.
Both ends in CA - they want to be able to catch your license plate in the cameras when you run a red light ;)
here in California's Canada, (or is that Washington's Mexico or Idaho's Portugal?) aka Oregon - its both. - the better to tag you in photo-radar. :rolleyes:

me too, not sure .. many, many people warned me about having one license plate (rear) but had rear one for about three years and never got stopped for that.
Rear only here. I have a novelty plate on the front. I've learned to take it off when I cross the border. It seriously confuses the US Customs guards! (It's a Calgary Stampeders plate--a white running horse, but they think it's a real plate every time and always ask why I have two different plates on my truck!)
