Actually, he's a mystery mutt. I keep trying to tell people that he's probably part ACD and part pit bull but most people just see pointer and dalmatian and when I point out that he's stocky and has a big thick head and he acts all like a pit bull they tend to agree. He's my big old baby, so intuned to me. :)
Yes, we have ACDs here. They are actually AKC (American Kennel Club) registered. Aren't they part dalmatian? From what I understand, just when dals were first being imported to Australia they were trying to develop their ideal cow dog, and since dals are bred to run 25 or more miles a day they used them in the creating what became the Aus cattle dog. The thing is, he was from a city shelter who said he was surrendered by an elderly hispanic lady accompanied by her children, because she couldn't handle him as a 6 month old, but when he came home he had good manners, he was scared too. Whenever food came out he got in his crate right away as to say "I'm not begging!" My mom says he has to be a mix of really common breeds because she thinks he came from the street. The thing is, what used to be rare breeds now come in and out of style in pet shops and puppy stores from god knows how horrible a place (Which is sick) So much for that "cross breeds are healthyer" crap, he has a mild epilepsy and we think caterats
