shaved.
er the hairless chinese crested are born like that, nobody did anything odd with their hair...Quote:
but I don't like it when people do odd things to their dogs fur. That's why I don't watch dog shows often. I especially dislike poodles and chinese crested with no fur in some places, but fur in other places.
LOL you beat me to that one I was just about to post that! reminds me of the lady that thought sphynx cats had Nair used on them
What did you go for in the end?
Can we see what Molly's new look please? :)
Most dogs cut for the show ring are cut for the work they do.Like the poodle, that cut is to protect their organs because they are hunting dogs. And Chinese cresteds can come in powder puff wich means they are all hair.I dont think the dog acres how they look when they are bron that way.Chinese cresteds are my second favorite dog..and they dont shave them to be bald.Quote:

I like the shaved look.
they're born like that? ! ?! :o I was looking at getting a power Puff at one point and I read in a book that "You don't have to shave them, there are varieties that aren't ment to be shaved, like the power Puff" Stupid book....
lol yep they are born like that, there are 2 varietys hairless and powderpuff. some people DO shave the hairless chinese crested but thats just to keep the already hairless skin smooth and free of stubble
Haha ya your not supposed to shave powder puffs(its powder puff lol not power:o :p )Quote:

Her hair is very curly by her shoulders and upper back... but in the rest of the places it's just crimped looking. And she doesn't get her hair cut until August 2nd... the day before we move. So sadly, you probably won't be able to see it because the computer will be packed away by then. Maybe I'll ask my uncle to use his for a sec to post a couple pictures. :)
Greyhoundgirl, like buttercup said, poodles get their hair cut like that because that's what working poodles hair is like. It's to protect their organs from the cold when they swim.
Personally I like the square look, because Molli has such beautiful coloring. But shaving her will probably be more comfortable in the summertime, and she'll look cute either way.
Ooh, I like that cut! I'm coming to gripps with the hair and I can actually see myself getting a standard poodle some time in the far future.Quote:

I've owned two poodles and have always favored the puppy clip for them.

i always liked the square cut best. i know there is a reason for the other cut, but i always thought it looked silly.*sorry to anyone that has a poodle with this cut.*
i like the square look ;)
Looks good in either cut, but if I had to chose one, it would be the square.
