I'd wait until they get all the bitter Americans out of Lebanon, A place that was suggested NOT to be a hangout for any U.S citizen.....
Sheesh,
Do the words Marine Barracks or USS Cole mean anything?
LH,
I do remember the look on the faces of the men on the beach that evening in Somalia.
I thought......Hmmm, 50 points for a reporter, 30 for a cameraman and 15 for the producer.
Let them print what they will.....Should they hammer a ship or chopper, the newscrews have a field day with that...
 I could just about make it if I start now! Now, where did I put my camera?Quote:

Sorry, but I'm with Sparks on this one......
I have NO interest in getting into a fight, just stating my opinion.

I stand proudly behind MY beliefs and my opinion and telling me you are taking someone elses side isn't going to "break me"
Now back on topic shall we
Lighten up, the reference to a "bout" and standing in someones corner was my feeble attempt to make a joke about the imaginary "ring" being set up in Gini's back yard for the BBQ. You know "in this cawnah... weighing in at....." Well, forget the weigh-in :p Richard would win that one hands down :D

Sara is never bitter but is so often right on target with good old common
sense comments on many issues that others make quite complicated with
twisted logic.
I haven't commented on Richard's original comments because they deserve
none. Rixhard can spout off any opinions he holds..
I have had heated discussions with Sara at times too but we somehow manage to remain friends. I figure if Mary Matalin can live with James Carville (GAG!). I can tolerate Sara in small doses. LOL! :p I do think there is a reason why some things should remain *classified information.* Apparently the press does not. I object to people being put in harm's way because of careless reporting for the sake of ratings.
So does that mean I can't come and live with you Pam?????? :p :pQuote:

To me the issue is WHO gets to decide what is classified and what is not.
The intention of the constitution is a balance of power....and the press to keep the government in check.
I like that idea.
I don't watch tv news as I think it tries to tell stories in too short of burst....ratings and all that. Not enough in depth.

In that case
LADIES AND GENTLEMAN. LET'S GET READY TO RUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMBLE
You can't have a boxing match without THAT. Hey do you think we could get the real guy?
Lizbud. we are all friends here. Edwina and I have a way with each other. I'm sarcastic, she's sarcastic. it is an unwritten unspoken agreement. :D Not to mention I gave an opinion in this thread before giving a rebuttal.
Edwina I do not believe in censorship either (in most cases, there are some things no one should be subject to seeing but thats another story) However I don't think that keeping some details to themselves is censorship. We don't need to know the names of the ships that are out there and how many men they have one them and where they are at this moment and where there destination is. All they need to say is, a rescue mission has been organized. or something like that lol. Some details should be kept hush hush.
We don't get coverage on plans the police are making to catch a serial killer. why should this be any different?
EDIT: One more thing to add. My husband made a good point earlier. The internet has changed our lives especially regarding media. NOW, news is old within 36 hours. Before the internet news was news for a long time. There wasn't constant coverage. Perhaps THAT is what makes this seem more extreme. when something happens we find out about it immediately. We don't have to wait. And with that increased amount of news flow of course things are going to look worse.

Before we go on with the subject...
I have to say that PT is one of the neatest places to post things.
We can all agree to disagree, but we all get a chance to voice our opinions.
===================
One of the most delightful people that I have met on PT is the one with opinions that are directly opposite of mine.
She has invited me into her home and made me feel like I was a welcome guest.
(I know she sprayed Lysol on the seat where I sat, after I left...) :D
Kidding... :p
Actions do speak louder than words.....

We all have different feelings about the planet around us.
So, when we differ on opinions, we have to remember that we all have to live on the planet, together.
People who defend freedom are a varied bunch.
Some carry rifles, ride tanks or fly planes.
Some clutch a document 230 years old, to their breast, and use that as their
ideal.
I admire them both.
We can do it both ways because we are in a special place.
I really pray that one day we can resort to hitting people in the head with a rolled up dream, instead of dropping bombs.
