Here come the gray hairs for you Samantha Puppy. Babies will do that to us moms! Your doctor is giving you good advice as far as just worrying about keeping him hydrated for now. About 2 1/2 years ago my grandson caught the horrible stomach virus that ran through our entire family and extended family. It was everywhere here in NJ it seemed! He couldn't keep anything down - not even simple water. His eyes were literally shrunken in and I was frightened beyond words. The doctor just suggested an ounce of water every 15 minutes or so. If that didn't work he would have needed to be hospitalized. It did work and eventually the bug passed. Tiny bits of liquid are important. Food will come later but keeping him hydrated is most important. Poor little guy. Prayers for Aiden from the entire PT family going up!

Oh, poor little guy! I remember when my kids got colds like that, they are so miserable and you feel so helpless. You both will be in my thoughts. (((Hugs)))

Poor little Aiden. Prayers for him and (((hugs))) to you. It's probably a good thing that the hospital isn't too concerned. He'll be ok :)

I'm sorry to hear your little guy is feeling so bad:(
Of course I'll be saying a prayer.

Thanks everyone. Aidan seems to be feeling better, though you can tell he's still not himself. He was able to keep 5 oz. of lunch and 5 oz. of dinner down so far. I'll probably feed him one more time before putting him down for the night. Hopefully that'll stay down too.
Unfortunately, tomorrow isn't going to start off too great for our boy. He had to have 7 viles of blood drawn on Monday morning and it was very difficult for the techs to find a vein (we actually tried to have it done last Friday but they couldn't find anything and sent us home, telling us to come back Monday). I was hoping that was the end of getting blood drawn for quite awhile, but some levels dealing with his thyroid came back elevated and doctors will not diagnose hyperthyroidism until a second test is done. So off to the lab we go first thing tomorrow, which means he'll be in hysterics for God only knows how long tomorrow. :(
I wish it were me. i wish they could take it from me and just leave my baby alone.

Oh poor Aiden your update puts tears in my eyes, you must feel horrible. I will keep him in my thoughts tomorrow :(
-
(((((HUGS))))) :( My thought and prayers are still with you all.

Poor baby Aiden and you. I will be thinking of you both this morning. Give Aiden some extra hugs from me. I hope he continues to keep his food down, and that everything goes well this morning.

We're back from the vampire (the lab). Aidan did very well!! The lab tech found a vein in the first arm on the first try and got a good amount of blood out of it, but then lost it so she had to try the other arm. She had to dig around for a vein in that one, but once she found it she got what she needed and more. (I just wish they could take out more and save it for future use!)
So we're back home and my baby boy is upstairs asleep in the crib. His once-dry cough is not anymore. When he coughs, you can hear it rattle in his lungs. He sometimes coughs and gets some phlegm up (I think) but since he doesn't know any better, he swallows it and looks at me crying and says "Gaaaaah!" (I think I say the same thing when I cough up phlegm!) Before naptime, I rubbed more Vick's Baby Rub on his chest and turned the Vaporizer on, as well as propped him up, so he should be good to go.
Crappy thing now is that I have his cold. I took medicine last night and I don't know if it was because of that, or if it's just a side effect of this cold, but I could barely sleep last night. I was up at least once an hour. I was hot, I was cold, I was hot, I was cold. It sucks! Aidan slept from 9:30 last night to 6:15 this morning, which was a Godsend after Tuesday night, and I couldn't take advantage of it!! Oh well, the most important thing is that HE starts to feel better.

Hope you both get well soon :(
