There too loving for there own good i hate what people do to these harmless dogs!!!
I haven't met an awful lot of pit bulls as yet, but people cannot distrust them or not like them for the sake of what others say about them. As many others have said, any dog, regardless of the breed, can have aggression problems. An old neighbour used to have a Pomeranian which was a mean little thing, and we still have neighbours with two very aggressive border collies. And of course people who own these breeds would not hesitate in saying that these breeds are the sweetest they've ever met etc, so it's really unfair, and offensive to people who own pitbulls, when someone expresses their hate for them. With kind treatment any animal will be a loving companian, but some people expect animals to stay placid when they are ignored, beaten or neglected. Some non-pettish people I know need to wake up to that fact.
two words............LOVE THEM!!!
The most foolish, silly dog I've met in a long time is one of my co-worker's pit mixes. Just like any other dog, if they're raised right, they're fine..
Breed legislation is senseless feel good BS so the politicians can stand up on campaign and say "See, I did XYZ". It has no basis in statistics (if BSL was stat based they'd ban cocker spaniels, which is top of the USPS's most frequent biter list)
You obviously know nothing on them to say such horrid things!Quote:

It is not totally the dogs fault. the people should be watching their kids better. the owners are responsible to.
I love them !!! Hope to one day own a rescue pit!!!
Ignorance and misseducation... You, and any other person who doesn't like or trust a whole breed of dog can not possible know the whole truth.Quote:

They can easily ruin a dog and it takes a lot to fix them. That is why it is not fair to punnish the responsible people who know what they are doing by banning or killing every dog. Look at history. The APBTs, Am Staffs, and Staffie Bulls were bred together by crossing an old style bull dog and a terrier to get a "Bull and Terrier". When pit fighting was outlawed, most peoplestarted breeding them as a family and ladies dogs. This was in the 1800s and early 1900s. For centuries, bulldogs and terriers were both bred very strongly AGAINST HUMAN AGGRESSION. Any dog who showed the slightest bit of aggression towards a human was killed, therefor eleminating them from the gene pool.
It is easy to see how a dog might lash out out of fear if it was kept on a chain, in a basement, or abused. It is programed to seak attention from the human, and be guided by them, but you stabed them in the back, you killed them emotionally already.

First off, NO ONE should leave any kid alone with any breed of dog EVER! Accidents happen but kids should be trained from an early age not to annoy a dog in anyway. People like you, whom have no education annoy me greatly, and read your facts before you state this anymore.
Zoomer, if you don't want to be critized by this then stop posting about pitbulls. We always try to avoid this sort of topic because these boards get extremely heated. Im with Kay, Buddy looks like a pitbull! ALOT like a pitbull, and plus you have stated that he was an ACD/pit mix.
Ummmmm........if you are refering to the brindle in your siggy, Pit Bull is written all over his face! People often deny pit bull heritage in their mix breed dogs to prevent the so called "sigma" (and often for other reasons as well.)Quote:

I'm getting kind of tired about this being brought up everytime the Pitbull is mentioned...just my opinion though.
