WOW! I did a search and went back to read Boomer: World Traveler 9/14/05 and what fun it was to read and remember that day!! It seemed to go on forever.
My daughter Missy lives in Japan with her hubby - he was deployed to Iraq and Boomer was flying here to America. The thread follows his day (about 30 hours  in the air. I was soooo nervous, Missy was even more nervous I think - she had to make the drive to Tokyo for the first time driving - to take Boomer to the Narita airport. In the meantime, we are both trying to stay somewhat in touch but it gets complicated because her time is 13 hours ahead.
That thread brings back all the excitement of that day. Folks here followed along and supported all of us. Phred made phonecalls to help us find info and posted about his progress all along the way and kept in touch with us too. Other folks did too, posting maps of the actual flight, gave weather reports, location reports and the like :D Many folks posted updates as Boomer flew over the ocean, across Cananda, Michigan and to New Jersey. Then he had another flight from Newark to here in Ohio. Hubby and I drove late that night to Columbus which is about an hour or so away.
I remember how exciting it was to read the posts here and know that others were excited with me. Some folks even dreamed about Boomer, were sooo nervous with us, posted cute flight graphics and even talked about him when they were at work :D All of that support really was amazing to me...I spent so much time here on the computer that day!!!
Thank you everyone!! What a day that was!!! :D :D
