Graham, you are such a handsome boy, I loved the picture of you, I'm glad things are getting better for you and for your Mom. You all have been so patient, it won't be too long now before you will be without all those casts and boots. Hugs and kisses from
Perry, Daisy and me.

Could we have an update on Graham? Is he adjusting to his cast or has it come off already?
-
How's Graham doing? Much better, I hope!!

Thanks for asking...we're hanging in there. You have no idea how badly I want that blasted cast off...I can't bathe him and I have had to go to the chiropractor every 3 days or so from a SORE back!!! Now that the cast is lighter, he's holding his leg up more when he walks and stands. He hardly puts the leg down now. He's been walking on 3 legs since they took the top half of the cast off.
Graham tells me that he wants a new leg for Christmas :) I told him, "tough" :)
4-8 more weeks now, then we are smooth sailing with a severely atrophied leg, and no cast. I just can't wait to be able to give him a nice, thourough bath! The food and supplements I have him on are very cleansing and detoxifying, and for those who know about natural health know that when people go on cleansing diets, they tend to have bad breath, get more pimples, or whatever...in a dogs case, the cleansing and detoxifying diet and supplements causes the dog to STINK! It's not the normal dog smell, it's different and very nasty. I have put him in the tub and washed what I could with his casted leg sticking out of the tub, but it's not enough. 4-8 more weeks of a P.U. doggie :)
OK, I'm done complaining :D Thanks for asking about him...he may be smelly but he's improving by the day. His hair is growing back nicely and he looks better. Graham says, "thanks for being such good friends".

That is such a cute picture! Poor Graham, he looks adorable but I'm sure it's no fun to have that cast on.

Leslie:
How's Graham doing? We haven't heard any news in a long time. Has the cast come off yet?
Give the brave boy a big hug from me and let us know how he's progressing in his recovery.

Well it's official...Graham has his cast and all the bandages completely removed! It's been on for 3 months so you can imagine his atrophy
He's not using the leg very often but I am trying to get him to use it as often as possible so he starts to gain muscle tone again. You can kind of see the scar on his leg, and you can see how streight it is, but it's not too close up so the scar is not so easy to see.
Thank you for asking about him :) I am so lucky to have you all as friends :)

The hair is starting to grow back, and the scar will eventually become un-noticable, but that leg will never bend again. I hate how permenant it is, but he seemes to be taking it pretty well. When he wants to move faster then a slow walk, he holds up that leg and runs on 3 legs. Although I can see that he wants to be able to run fast again, he seems to be taking his new disability pretty well.

Yay! Oh, Yay! Graham is free of the dreadful itchy-clunky thing! Good job, pretty boy, (and Mama) for putting up with all the hassle. We are very proud of you, and love you just as much, bendy leg or no! :)
-
I can't believe it has been three months! Graham, you are the most patient, tolerant boy. Your leg looks like it's healing well :) And in no time, and with a little exercise and continued use, your muscles will gain back their strength. And knowing your indominable, fighting spirit, I have every confidence you will not let this stop you from living life to it's fullest!!! You are as handsome as ever and a joy to behold without that cast! As a friend of ours would say...Graham, you da man!! :)
-
Precious Graham, we are so proud of your courage and zest for life! Congratulations on having that nasty old cast come off. You look so handsome and regal without it.
Leslie, please give Graham a hug and a kiss on those precious hairy lips for me. We are glad he is doing better and know with his determination nothing will hold him down.
