Very cute video!! Thanks Nate and BTW - was that a beer mug I spotted on the counter.....hmmmmmm......a well deserved treat for both of you I'm sure!
OMG I never realized the incision was soooooo long, but as others had said, it looks like it is healing up very nicely.
It was good to see you Naomi taking a much needed rest and with Bassett lying on you the way she is, is just priceless.
Keep on getting better dear sweet Bassett. What a trooper you are girl.
Thanks for the updates.:)
OUCH!!!
Bassett sure is a brave girl, what a huge incision!!!
I'm glad to hear she is recovering with help from her skin parents!!
Oh, it made me feel soooooooo wonderful to know that we here at PT had a part of helping this precious baby girl get better! I love the picture of her drinking from the sink faucet... she just looks SO good! I just wanted to reach through the computer and pet her and give her big (gentle) hugs!!!
WE LOVE YOU BASSETT!!!
P.S....
I'm waiting for the BIG video to download now! ;)
Oh.... what a nice PT Thank you video!!! Now... tell me each of the 3 ladies pictured in it, PLEASE!!!:D
The three ladies that you see in the video are (from left to right) Slick, Nomilynn, and The Hospital Administrator (I forget her name at the moment).
Well I was at the hotel last night with Naomi and the kids, and we were watching TLC (they have a really cool CSI program on there!) anyway... we were watching TV and Bassett came and layed down between my knees which isn't unusal for Bassett to do. I started scratching her side where she was shaved and she seemed to like it. Then the coolest thing happened, it made me feel so priviledged, she tried rolling over on to her back so I could scratch her tummy, but she couldn't quite do it so I helped her. So I sat there for a half hour or so scratching her tummy, around the incision, all over where she was shaved. And I'll tell ya, if I cat could roll her eyes in to the back of her head saying "ohhhh ya ... right there" she was doing it.
Unfortunatley for me I forgot my digital camera at home, luckily Naomi had hers and got some pictures. I'm sure those will get scanned and uploaded soon enough. Shes doing fine, and recovering well. She scared me a little last night, she caught a stich while moving around and started to breathe really fast and howl, I thought something really bad happened, until Naomi moved her and asked what was wrong. Phew! ... Anyway, the A/V Dept. feels very priviledged to have been trustworthy enough to be the only one to scratch Bassett's belly (so far :P).
Regards,
A/V Dept.
That sounds wonderful:) :D
Way to go Bassett!
Doesn't this just warm your heart? Such good news for a change on our Bassett!
Sure does ...! It is a privelige to be able to scratch a kitty's belly at the best of times ... :) Bassett obviously thinks very highly of you, Lirathal!Quote:

AWWWWW please give that belly a scratch for me too! I'm sure the fur is probably starting to grow by now and maybe it's itchy. I can just picture her now.......:D :D
Thanks for the continuous updates. When does Bassett go home to the Island?
Naomi, that picture of you and Bassett is so sweet. Bassett, you are amazing me that you are recovering so quickly with an incision like that. Thank you AV and Belly Rub Dept.
I am away this weekend and am looking forward to watching the videos when I get home.
Bassett is our little trooper. :D I love the pic of Naomi and Basset :) I am so so glad things turned out for the better!
How many of us have a picture as sweet as Naomi and Bassett?
I have been in that position, with a kitty on my tummy, sound asleep. However, I have no pictures as proof, just some wonderful memories.
I really love all animals, but in my book, there just isn't quite anything as special as a cat!
I'm so glad Bassett is recovering well. Boy, she's going to have one impressive scar! I bet it itches.
Hi everyone! We finally made it home this afternoon. I still have a lot of unpacking to do but my own bed looks SOOO comfy right about now! Bassett (and the other furballs) are all doing great.. sniffing around and inspecting the house to make sure that nothing is out of place. I'm sure they will help me unpack too! :)
Be back soon! :)
Naomi
What a wonderful word.
Fantastic! You must be tired, happy, exhausted and all the other emotions under the rainbow!
Hopefully there is a little parcel from Australia awaiting your collection ;)
I'm glad to know that Naomi and Basset are home.
I'm sure things will be much better now that you are home.
Naomi, I'm so glad to hear that you're both home safe and sound. :D
Unfortunatley I have to remove the website from my computer. I am getting ready to go back to school and they will kick me out if I am found running a server :). If you'd like the videos still, PM/e-mail me and we'll work something out.
Regards,
A/V Dept.
WELCOME HOME TO ALL OF YOU!!
Sorry the video had to go Nate - but thanks for the work you did on it.
Such a relief to get you all home safe and sound Naomi - catch up on much needed rest with the furkids!
{{{Hugs}}} across the miles...........
Lynne
I am so happy you are in the recovery mode and doing nicely! Such a happy time for all of us now.
I had a feeling the both you and Bassett had the energy and drive to pull this operation off without any big hitches.
I wish you and Bassett continued recovery and lots of belly rubs! Have you taught Bassett to rub your tummy? ;) :D ;)
WELCOME HOME to you both!!!!!!:D
YAYAYAY! WELCOME HOME!!!!!
So nice to be home. I hope your Sunday evening is low key, and full of relaxation. I hope the week goes smoothly for all of you.
Things are still going very smoothly. Bassett had been anemic after her surgery, so I've been giving her injections of something called Eprex. She got her last dose of that today (I'm sure she will be REALLY glad about that!) and she took her other meds like a very good girl. She's gone right back to her normal routines of begging for treats in the morning and sleeping on her favourite bed in the guest room :)
Tilly and Nutmeg are also doing fine.. they are also very glad to be home and comfortable :) So all in all, it's good news! :)
Oh Naomi, that is such great news.
Keep up the good work dear sweet Bassett.
Happy happy home sweet home to both of you.
This is all such wonderful news!:D
Great to hear Bassett is doing well. Please give her some scritchies from me.
Ooh this is so great!! Everything turned out so good!! :D I am very happy to hear your good fortune Naomi, keep it up Bassett!
Dear Lord, we thank you in Jesus' name for these powerful prayers which You answered.
Naomi, we are sending all our love, and thanks that everything has gone so well.
Best wishes,
Julie
Ally, as always, sends big happy kitten kisses!:D
Bassett is still doing great. The only thing that I'm a *little* concerned about now are two scabs on either side of her. One I have been keeping an eye on ever since I brought her home from the hospital, because it was in an area that was already shaved. In fact, you can see it in one of the pictures Nathan posted earlier; it's the one that T&P's Mom thought was the incision :) However, today, I saw her hair was all askew on her OTHER side, and she has another patch of scabs there too. I called Dr. Schiller, and she said that she really thinks that Bassett got a bit of a burn from the thermal water blankets they use to keep the kitties warm in surgery. Because the areas are almost identical, she thinks it's where the blanket/bottle (whatever it is) came into contact with her skin. Bassett is totally "unbothered" by them, and I have been putting vitamin E gel on the one, and now the other, as per Dr. Schiller's advice. I just cut away the fur around the other area, and she purred the WHOLE time.. so I'm thinking it might be itchy or something :) Hehe.. oh well.. I'm just glad that it isn't serious and she doesn't appear distressed at all.
I'll keep you updated on her continuing recovery! :)
Naomi
Naomi, you are the BEST MOM, for sure! Bassett is doing a fine job of recovering and you are doing the best job of all, keeping her vetted and loved!
I can't wait for time to pass, her fur to grow back, and for you to relax for a change. It has been one heck of a journey!
You are the greatest, kiddo!
Love,
SAS and her three brats
:D
:o Thank you! :o :DQuote:

What a relief to know that Bassett is home and recovering wonderfully. :D
*hugs to you both!*
And thank Nathan for all the pictures. That incision is a testament to how brave and strong she is. :)
