Dreamed I was an Eskimo
Frozen wind began to blow
Under my boots and around my toes
The frost that bit the ground below
It was a hundred degrees below zero
And my mama cried
And my mama cried
Nanook, a-no-no
Nanook, a-no-no
Don't be a naughty Eskimo
Save your money, don't go to the show
Well I turned around and I said oh, oh oh
Well I turned around and I said oh, oh oh
Well I turned around and I said ho, ho
And the northern lights commenced to glow
And she said, with a tear in her eye
Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow
Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow

Does this answer the question? Yes, those are all footy prints in the snow - squirrels. birds, and even Ilsa - a baby bunny that has been coming by lately - we've only seen her once, but she often leaves tracks!
Okay, technically, it is relatively warm, +19°F but the sun does not reach that spot, just the wind!
I live at the bottom of a gradual hill and the road goes up across and down again, The most entertaining thing is to watch cars TRY to navigate up and over.
A red dually truck came by fishtailing it's way up the hill, he finally had to make a U and come back down.
I started to come inside when the lady next door came around the corner, so we BOTH stood there and laughed at him.
17F with a wind chill of 6F, but it is supposed to be at least that cold or colder for the rest of the week in Chicagoland. It looks like a week for a heavy coat, hat, mittens and lots of layers of clothes. It's 84F in Australia today, wish I could just board an airplane and go! I heard on the radio that the starting point for the Iditarod (sp?) race was moved three hundred miles away from where they had planned it, because of not enough snow. The announcer joked that they have enough snow in Massachusetts for the race right now :)

The average high for Chicago in mid-February is around 35-38F. Tomorrow the forecast is for a high of 10F (brrrrr!) and Thursday 2F. Then it's back up into the 20s with snow for the weekend. The groundhog saw his shadow and we have definitely had a few more weeks of winter since then.
It's 80F and sunny in St. Thomas, USVI today, wish I was there!
Here it is 0*F, feels like -21F
2°F Feels Like -13° High of 4* today plus wind chill!
In Butler, Pa the regular temp was 0 degrees this morning with the windchill at about 20 degrees below zero. All is not lost, however. The high today will be a balmy 6 degrees!
How cold is it where I am?
-----
The local government has held new pressers to keep people informed as to what services - snow removal, plowing and schools - are being affected.
There has been no school since last Friday and the school superintendent has been at the broadcasts letting parents know there is no school scheduled for the next few days.
One day she asked the kids 'to read anything' while they were at home.
Yesterday, she said something about "mukluks".
As the Mayor came back to the lectern, he looked around and said, "I don't know what 'mukluks' are....."
Back at the TV station, the anchors said, "MUKLUKS?"
They cut back to the Mayor and when his spiel was over, the male anchor said, "I looked up 'mukluks' and all I found was something about a seal skinned Eskimo boot!".
-----
I was laughing my butt off during all of this and yelling at the screen, "MUKLUKS ARE COLD WEATHER BOOTS!!!"
Here I am, a SoCal kid, grew up in 70 degree, year round weather and I knew what 'mukluks' are?
That is how cold it is!!!!!!;)
Well, it hit 8 degrees last night. it was 12 when I awoke. It's now 25. We get a repeat tonight. Most of us do not have winter gear. I do, but I'm strange.
School is in session but delayed. The students would get frostbite waiting on the school bus. Hopefully this extreme cold will kill off some of the fire ants. BRRRRR
It's a great day to burrow under blankets and watch old movies.
We might get more of the wet stuff.
They've been delaying school opening in Poughkeepsie because a lot of the kids walk to school. I'm kind of two minds about this: the 9 year old mind waiting for the bus when it was this cold, and wish they had delayed school; and the "get off my lawn" mind that says cowboy up, I did it, so can you! :D
Heat wave! It's up to 7F (-14C) with lovely bright sunshine ... but the wind chill is still -7F. When I left for work this morning it was below zero.
LOLOLOL, as it SHOULD be!

0°F Feels Like -10°
its cold -4 F
I used to laugh at the news clips of people walking around in single digit weather, all wadded up in nylon, cotton and spandex.
What do they say about 'pay back'?
--------------
I got into the car, drove it for about a mile and a half up the street when I realized the AC was on.
The AC was WARMER than the 'Heat' setting in the car.
I got to my destination and the car STILL wasn't warm....
At 10.00pm it's all of 10 degrees here in Trenton though the best is yet to come. Temperatures will continue to drop during the overnight and we'll have a record setting 1 degree by morning commute time. Counting the wind chill, it will feel like -19 below.
-20* F who cares about wind chill? :(
Fri Feb 20 2015
This morning at 730am it was 4 degrees. That broke the previous record of 14. We have a breeze so it's equiv to -6. The high yesterday was 22. High for today is to be 25. Not normal for us.
I'm in central NC and we are not accustomed to such cold temps. On Monday of this week we had 1"snow then sleet and freezing rain on top of it and because it's been so cold, we still have the frozen white mixture in part of our long drive that is in the shade. I'll be glad when spring gets here. Robins were in the yard three weeks ago. If they left and came back, they came back too soon.
Figured I would check the temperature, as all 8 of the morning doves that live here - and are rarely seen feeding together in more than 2 or three at a bunch - are all gathered around the two plates of seed now that I refilled them.
It is currently 9°F (-13°C), but the wind chill is at -9°F (-23°C)!
You sure have the winter over there! We've had an extremely warm winter this year. Hardly any snow. :)
It felt like it was above freezing this afternoon, so I spent some time carving the snow bank back before the next storm came, and gained 2 more feet of parking room for my car. I then came inside and checked - it was actually 28°F(-2.2°C), and so was not even above freezing, it just felt that was as I have become so accustomed to bitter cold temperatures! Just checked, that was the height, is has now dropped to 26°F (-4C) and is snowing again!
Heat wave here in NE Ohio! 29°F Feels Like 29° :D We've had maybe 4-5" of snow since early morning.
Temperature is now zero in Decorah, Iowa where the bald eagles now have two eggs in the nest. :D
Oh, how cool, Freckles - do they have a nest camera online?
Today it was above freezing for the first time in weeks, so lots of melting - and condensing of the snow pack. Now, though, the temperate is dropping again, back down to 27°F(-4C) on its way down to a predicted 17°F this evening, and even further to about 9°F by morning! Very very drippy today!

I can't remember this mornings temp, I think -4*. Tonight? -10*
Too darn cold...-6 deg F this AM.
