Miss Potter, this a unconventional biopic about the personal life of beloved children's author and illustrator Beatrix Potter (Renée Zellweger). The film traces Potter's romance with a young editor (Ewan McGregor) as well as her enduring contributions to literature, including the timeless bunny story The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Excellent Movie.
The Spitfire Grill
Just-out-of-jail Percy Talbott (Alison Elliott) lands in idyllic Gilead, Maine, and with the local sheriff's help, she finds employment and a place to stay at the Spitfire Grill. Percy develops a kinship with crotchety owner Hannah (Ellen Burstyn) and co-worker Shelby (Marcia Gay Harden), but Shelby's spouse (Will Patton) remains wary of the former felon's motives -- especially after she devises a plan to help the aging proprietor sell her café. Excellent Movie
"It's Complicated". I can't say enough about how bad this movie is. Steve Martin and Meryl Streep, two of my all time favs, were so disappointing in it. Anyone could've played Martin's part and Streep was just plain annoying. It's a formula movie and yet it can't decide what it wants to be, a comedy, a drama, what? No surprises but lots of confusion. Avoid.
"Sherlock Holmes" w/another favorite of mine, Robert Downey Jr., and Jude Law. Good but not the typical SH movie. I guess I was expecting them to solve the crime over a pot of tea. LOL It's action oriented but then Guy Ritchie directed it, so I can't expect much else. Good movie, though. Robert Downey Jr. is looking really good. Really. Good. Really. :p
We all went out to dinner last night and saw 'It's Complicated'. Not the best, but it was funny.:D
Oh and I highly recommend 'The Blindside'. AMAZING. It's based on a true story, just an all-around GREAT movie. I'd go see it a second time. Then a third.;)
Hey you!!!!
Glad to see you!
I loved the guy that played Scotty! At first I didn't want to like him?
He had the part down pat!:)

To Live and Die in L.A.
That is a great movie. Willem Dafoe is one of the best bad guys of all time.
And William Peterson was great in the movie.
Rollerball
James Caan was a stud in that flick!

The director of AVATAR promises an alien "sex scene" when it comes out on DVD.
I used to dig James Cameron, but he's a turd.
If you ever get the chance to see, "A Night to Remember"-a movie about the sinking of the Titanic, you will see that he took that movie dissected it and just re-did it.
I understand that there is no lee way in the story, but he really didn't add to the tale. Of course, Kate Winslet naked is an improvement on the story?:rolleyes:
Seabiscuit .... (2003) .. The story recounts the life and racing career of Seabiscuit, an undersized and overlooked thoroughbred race horse whose unexpected successes made him a hugely popular sensation in the United States near the end of the Great Depression.
Starring: Tobey Maguire, Jeff Bridges, Chris Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Gary Stevens, William H. Macy
Outstanding movie.
Family and I watched 'Baby Mama' this evening. It's actually not quite as bad as I thought, kinda funny.;)
Control The story about Ian Curtis, the lead singer of the band, Joy Division.
Wow,
If you like music biopics, check this one out. I had peripherally heard of this band and happened to catch the movie today.
I really was touched by what this guy went through.:eek:
AVATAR in 3D...one of the best, if not the best movie I've ever seen!
Ah seabiscuit is on the telly tonight.:)
I went to see "It's complicated". I didn't stop laughing through the entire movie. Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep were a riot!!!
A definite MUST SEE!
I saw "Watchmen".
Good.
I don't really like movies where you jump into a story with a long history to it.
I think that the movie based on where a character/s came from is more compelling that a movie that gives you a glimpse back in the opening credits-ala any movie that comes from a Marvel Comic.

The producer of AVATAR said that he has a couple of projects in the works with James Cameron. One is based on the sport of freediving. Competitors take a breath and see how far down the can dive with no oxygen tanks.
If he is true to form? He will take the movie-THE BIG BLUE-and butcher storyline that to get his movie.
;)
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (DVD) was very good. Yeah I like cartoon movies, so sue me:p
No, stuff like that doesn't count. That is a cartoon/CGI prduction!
When they take motion capture technology and try to pass it off as something else? Years ago there was a Lord of the Rings Cartoon done by Ralph Bashiki.

From what I remember? It was a film that was colored in later on-to add special effects and background. The actors were real, then enhanced in post production........
Avatar just takes that idea and 'computes' it.
That is my only problem with the way the film is being marketed.
Same idea, different tech!
