I don't know why, but I haven't liked Taylor from the beginning.. I don't like Katharine either though... so I'm not really "rooting" for anyone..
Unfortunately I wasn't home last night when they were performing, so I can't comment on that, but I liked Elliot and wish it had been Katharine.
I'm so so sad :( .
I knew Elliott would go home tonite so I was prepared for it. I hope he has lots of success in the future. I'm a big fan of the remaining two, actually I was a big fan of the last four, so I don't really think I care who wins..lol. However, I do believe that Katherine fits the role of "American Idol" more than Taylor.
I'm so disappointed Elliot was kicked off. :( He was clearly the best singer left.
gah. I'm not a huge fan of Katharine, but if Taylor wins I'll put my foot through the TV.

I was very sad last night too. I hate to see Elliot go but I sorta knew it would be him. Kat has a fan base somewhere that's keeping her alive. The voting was so close it was unbelievable. Taylor is another story. In my opinion...he jumps around way to much and sings way too little. When he does sing, he sounds off key most of the time. What is he gonna do as our Idol winner? I do think he's going to win over Kat however so maybe we'll get to find out. I'm like many others, I've never liked him either. He lacks insincerity to me. There's something about that guy that I don't like. Good luck to Elliot in everything he tries to do. A man with tears in his eyes gets me every time :(
I am glad Elliot got the boot last night, although I would've been equally satisfied if Joe Co- errr, Taylor left too. If HE wins the entire thing, I don't know what I'll do. Maybe not watch next year. I do think that Katharine is the best singer (when she doesn't try to over do it) and fits the image of the American Idol the best.

Somewhere over the Rainbow was NOT, by far the best performance of the season. Did you all hear Elliot sing "Moody's mood for Love" again.
That was clearly a superior vocal performance.

We liked all the songs Elliot sang on Tuesday, we know them well.

I love Moody's Mood For Love and he sings it so well. Loved all of his songs. that he sang on Tuesday also. His voice is so smooth and I find it soothing. There is just something about that boy that just touches my heart.
Aww, c'mon now, why do you have to take a shot a Kat's dad. He's just a proud papa and there isn't anything wrong with that. Trust me I know the feeling. Every time my son plays his guitar and gets on stage to sing my heart swells and I'm so proud that he even has the courage to get up there and do that. To this day when I walk into our YMCA and see my son's name up there on the swim team record board I get all sappy and want to shout out to anyone passing by that that is my son's name up there...lol. I thought Elliot sang "Moody's Mood for Love" extremely well. But it's the only style of song he can do! I'm not saying Katharine has nailed every single genre, but at least she doesn't sound the same all. the. time. *cough* Elliot *cough* *hack* Taylor *hack* When she just sings and doesn't try to go all diva, she has a beautiful voice. She is a much better fit for the title of Idol than Taylor. Besides the "soul patrol" (lame!), who is going to buy his records? I love blues and old classics, which seem to be his forte, and I wouldn't buy his stuff because I don't think he's anything special. Can he sing? Yes. Does he knock my socks off? No. Does Katharine? She can - "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" was proof enough of that.
I am getting really sick of taylor. If he wins I am going to die. :rolleyes: Katherine has to win. I agree with flamepony. I will put my foot through the tv.

I was listening to one of my usual radio stations this morning and they always do a section on AI and one of them has been doing alot of interviews and watching the shows there in person. This morning he was saying that Chris was not such a nice guy. Of course he was going to tell his story when they returned after break and as you all know that takes forever so I wound up not getting to hear the story..lol. Has anyone else heard any reports about Chris not being very nice?
AND..wow, it seems like every where I go someone is saying something negative about Katharine and I have to say I just don't get it. I think she is good. I think she is talented. I can certainly see her putting out some good videos with all those great facial expressions that everyone hates...lol. :p
I missed the first songs, so I can't comment on those. The second round Katharine did do better but Taylor still did well. The third round - how cheesy were those songs? Especially Katharine's! I feel sorry for them that they have to sing those. Katharine's singing in that song was a mess to me. The low notes sounded awful and she just didn't seem like she was into it. Taylor blew her away that round!
I think Taylor is our American Idol :D
Kat's last song was a train wreck. She was out of tune, pitchy and just drug along. I was so glad when it was over! Both those songs were awful but at least Taylor committed and put some personality into it. I think it just shows that Kat can't sing a new song, she needs to hear someone else sing it first so she knows how to do it. For that alone Taylor is the better singer in my opinion.
Personally I wouldn't buy either Kat or Taylor's album but I'll be watching for Elliott and Chris.
Oh yeah, can anyone image Chris singing either one of those stinker songs??? He's probably glad he didn't have to.
I didn't catch Kat's first, but liked Taylors, the second round was close as far as I was concerned, the third I'd definately have to give to Taylor, I absolutely hated Kat's.
No offence intended but where did they get those last two songs? :rolleyes: Holy Cow! They were just terrible. Taylor did alot better than Kat and considering what he had to work with, he did a marvelous job. I felt sorry for both of them that they had to perform either one of them. I too, was glad when Kat's was over. It was brutal! She did a great job on "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" again but I don't think she'll win. I believe that congratulations to Taylor are in order. I won't buy either of their albums but I will buy Chris' and Elliot's as well :)
Now I go through American Idol withdrawals and look forward to the next one. What will I do Tuesday nights?? :confused:

I have to agree about those last 2 songs. Neither were great, but Taylor did do better. It started out rough, but he pulled through. Kat's was like nails on the chalk board.
Overall, I think Taylor did much better than Kat. He should win in my opinion, but Kat is more of the "full package." She has a face to sell records that her voice won't.

I tryed and tryed to vote for Katherine. I voted for half an hour on two phones!!! I put a new meaning to multitasking. I couldn't get through :( Taylor wins I will be so mad. I cannot stand his voice. :mad: :mad: :mad: It drives me nuts!!!! He is to hyper. And don't even get me started about his hair. Grey is not cool!!! People get on to Katherine to much about her not moving around on stage enough. If you are listening to a cd you can't see the person. It shouldn't matter how they move this is a voice competition.
I voted for Taylor. It did take an hour and half to get through and that was on his third line.
I really hated Kat's first song. The song itself was dumb, I thought. A dark horse in a cherry tree? PA---LEASE!!!
By the way, if you listen to a cd, you won't see the person's hair color! ;) :D
Taylor sounds a lot like Elvis sometimes. :D

I didn't have much trouble, it went through more than I got busy signals. We were doing it around midnight here (eastern time), not sure if that makes a difference.
I only voted for Taylor twise because it got to late. :( I hope he wins, I love his voice and he is so confident. For some reason Kat really bothers me.
Kat really had an off night last night, but I still want her to win. Taylor reminded me of a bad imitation of Elvis last night. His Joe Cocker twitches were more controlled, but his voice was going. I voted for Kat - got through without too many busy signals - voted for an hour or two. Zabasearch has them neck-and-neck, but Taylor winning by a very slim margin. I'll be watching Lost tonight, so I'll probably get the AI results from the message boards.
I had to work last night and I missed it. :( *cries* I worked from 4-10, and I forgot to set the recording timer before I left and no one was home at 8 to tape it for me. This is the first episode that I've missed - and it was the final singing!! AGHHH, I can't believe I missed it.

The Soul Patrol won. They're all winners and many of them will go on to entertain us for many years to come. It always makes me a bit teary to see these kids' lives change before our eyes - they are SO lucky and I wish them all the best. It's hard work being a performer in today's market.

What a nerve wracking night for the contestants! It was great and I watched every minute of it. As RH said, it's amazing to watch these lives change.
