http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../fritznbev.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../bevnfritz.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...6/supper-1.jpg A couple of pictures of Fritz with Auntie Bev and Fritz wanting some KFC from Dad.Unfortunately,a picture of Irene turned out blurry,so it is no good to show.Fritz got all sorts of new treats from them,a red and green bone squeaky and a Bichon Calander.Bev took him on a few walks in the snow,she fell on one of them,not hurt.they come as I was coming back from doing a neighbor's driveway,I slipped and landed on my back,saw stars but am alright.Just about went again just as the Aunties were driving by.When they were here,we got a call from my cousin Sharon.She and her boyfriend Norm were on their way back to Windsor,Ontario from Montreal and they stopped in to see dad.i had updated her by e-mail on how dad was doing and I had been sending pictures of Fritz to them.Liked them very much.Friz kept bugging dad for chicken,dad put some with his food,only ate the chicken.Mom and i had Pizza,gave him some Pizza crust which he ate..Fritz liked Norm and Sharon,greeted them with kisses and wags,then to the window he went. :)
Oh Fritz, just look at you with Auntie Bev. You look so happy to see her. I am so glad they got to see you and give you treats. You're such a good boy.
The Aunties visited!!!! YAY YAY YAY!!!! What a big day it's been for you Fritz!! You must have been running around like a maniac when you saw them coming. It must have been a wonderful reunion.
Sorry to hear that you and Auntie Bev took a fall, Barry. Take it easy on that slippery snow. That's the only thing about snow I don't like. It's so slippery. Your Dad looks great in those pictures Barry. I hope he's feeling better since he had several visitors. How was Auntie Irene feeling?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../momnfritz.jpg Fritz on Mom's lap before supper.My Aunt came over to see Dad,also an old family friend who recently moved back here from up north.Fritz was excited to see both.Fritz had quite a play with his new squeaky before supper.he jumped up on the couch,picked it up in his mouth and threw it on the floor where Fritz and i played with it until he tired himself out and first went to the window and then to chair,panting while sitting in the hot sun.As I said Ireen looks pretty good,but is kind of thin.She sees a specialist in Oshawa,10 miles west of us on Tuesday :cool: . Fritz and all of us here wish all the Pet Talk community a Happy 2007 and i hoped it brings good news on the health front for dad.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...tireddog-1.jpg Fritz in mom and dad's bed this morning,not quite ready to start 2007 so early.I stayed up to see the New year in,mom couldn't make it and went to bed,she was going to get up again,was too lazy,I guess.Fritz had a hard time settling down last night,kept wanting to go up,gave him some beggin strips he was happy,but he kept sitting up and begging ,even standing on just his two back paws wanting treats.He has milk-bones shaped and tasting like chicken drumsticks which he really enjoys.He has had his cereal and toast and is right up to Dad on the couch.When I got up this morning,wished mom a Happy New Year,then dad,shook his hand,he sounded a little sad. :D
It looks like Fritz is tuckered out with all the partying!! ;) He looks like alot of people today probably ;) ;) .
I couldn't make it all the way to midnight, Barry. So many firecrackers going off, Delilah had a very restless night. I'll bet the neighbors do it again tonight. I hope and pray for the very best year for you guys in 2007. I'm so sorry your Dad is sad. I wish the miracle cure would come through soon. :(

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...6/duckplay.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...zdadntaffy.jpg I was playing with Fritz and got this picture with him holding the squeaky and here he is tonight with Dad and Taffy.Taffy was here as Larry and Marlene went to Larry's Dad's for supper.That pole is there to help Dad pull himself up off the couch better.Right now,i have to hold the walker in place while he lifts himself up or mom will hold the walker in place while i lift Dad up under his shoulders and that works fine.He would feel better if he had a little strength in his legs as he got frustrated this afternoon that he can't do a whole lot.Larry is going to put in some rails around the tub to help pull himself up. :cool:

It's great that you guys are coming up with ways to help your Dad, Barry. I know he appreciates it. My heart is breaking to hear what a hard time he's having. More prayers are on the way from here in Florida.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...papanfritz.jpg Fritz snoozing with Dad this morning before breakfast.He was fussy today,didn't want my toast,had the cereal,had dad's porridge,had mom's toast.he was pretty good last night,barked a couple of times while upstairs,had to get Beggin Strips to get him down.Fritz finally ended up under the little couch,stayed there when Mom went up to bed and then went on his own later.Right now,i think he is keeping dad company.Dad already had us adjusting the pole next to the couch.It wasn't in the right and he yaks at us it is still doesn't look right,try and get it right,he still hollers at you.my patience is getting tested,.He should have told Larry it wasn't right,he was the one who put it up. :p
I feel the frustration for all of you, Barry. I get so frustrated with my Mom sometimes too when she gets upset. Hang in there. We're here for you. Fritz, you're such smart little boy and so cute. Have a good day all of you!! :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...6/comfydog.jpg Fritz all cozy,comfy on Dad's lap this morning.At first ,Fritz didn't go upstairs,then went, and he was at the top of the stairs,I told him go back to bed,not long later,he was there again and he had to go out.He doesn't like my toast anymore,he left that and only had my cereal and maybe porridge today.I haven't heard from some of you over the holidays,maybe busy,hope to hear more from you soon.Larry had made a cushion to help dad get off the cocuh better,apparently like it last night,now doesn't and it i off.It was easier for him to lift himself off with it on and the pole there,now it is going to be that much harder getting off.No matter what now,it is getting hard to please him.He picks arguments where there is nothing to fight about.Larry and his brother are coming either today or tomorrow to put rails around the tub.I imagine ,he will like it,then it seems after the fact,he finds something wrong.yesterday,Marlene phoned and she needed his social insurance number,easier for me to find it and give it to Marlene.I had to take everything out to find it,found it.Brought it all out to him said nothing about it and soon and mom gets home ,he complains to her about me taking it all out,didn't say anything to me. :)

It was the same with my Dad, Barry. No matter what we did, it was wrong but it was more out of frustration with himself and his illness than with us. Try not to see anything as a personal attack - Fritz seems to sense you need cheering up bless him
Oh Barry~ I'm sorry that your Dad is experiencing such difficultly getting around~I've been in your Shoes and I know how frustrating your situation has to be!!! Just take deep breaths and concentrate on what YOU know has to be done. And , allow your Father to Vent his frustration, sense that's all he can do on his own right now.
You're putting forth your Best Effort~ And, frankly, I really think you're a very supportive Son!!!! ( Dad and Fritz think you are too)
When my Dad could not get up without being lifted, my Mom bought a chair that had a seated lift. All Dad had to do was press the button and the seat would slowly raise him to a standing position. From there, He could grab onto his three pronged walker~

Barry, hang in there. You are a very good Son. You're Dad is just frustrated and probably scared about the future. He can't do the things he used to and it's probably very hard for him to realize that. I'm glad he has you to depend on and Fritz to make him laugh. Take care.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...26/onwatch.jpg Fritz on watch in the front window this morning,watching for any strange dogs to come by which he would most likely bark at.He had Rice Krispies,didn't want my toast,mom put some of dad's porridge on an Aluminum pie plate,I had to take it to him on the couch where he ate it all up.Fritz was at the groomers 2 weeks yesterday,he does manage to stay clean,doesn't get too dirty.Fritz behaved himself while i went to a hockey game.Dad got up last night and walked out to the living room using only a cane which I thought was great.he wanted a snack had a Tea and some Tea Biscuits.
I just love these 'Fritz In The Window' pictures! He is such a cutie pie and it's nice to know that he is doing such a good job of guarding your home! ;) That is very good news about your dad Barry. One day at a time.....
