After seeing those sweet pictures, I want to kiss that sweet face!!!
Please deliver lots of head kissies from me, ok?:love:
I had a feeling that Max was a big fluff ball. When my Puddy died, Slick sent me a lock of Max's fur to comfort me. I still have it and always will. I have a lock of Puddy's fur, too. I keep it in a plastic baggie and take it out every once in a while and give it a good sniff. It still smells like her. But Puddy would've gotten lost in all that Max fur, fur sure! ;)
Aww, what a big ol' Persian-faced poof!
I am on Meals on Wheels and I have Janice stop by a Deli for Sea Food Chowder for JJJ3 , My Princess and Michael aka Mr Purr.
I find that sometimes when My Cats dont seem to have an appetite that the helps a lot.
And a Nice Bagel with Lox will alwys get Josephs interest too.
:love::love::love:
Both Sandra and I mentioned playing classical music to de-stress a cat. Here is a clip from the CBS Morning News about this very subject. Their focus was on dogs, but it does work the same for cats.

FYI - it takes about 10 seconds for the clip to really begin.
How is Max doing??
Yes Phred, those are the needles that I ordered and received. Very sharp indeed. My fingers are pin cushions. :rolleyes:Quote:
Ask Pacific Health Care if they have the Terumo needles -
which are much sharper and more easily inserted than Monoject needles.
Yes, and it's getting worse. He fights and fights and I feel so bad because I'm literally holding his body down while my neighbour holds his head down. I feel so bad but it's the only way I can insert the needle.Quote:
But the way he behaves during sq time, is just like the way Raven behaved. She did not want it, and LET ME KNOW!!!
I'm already giving him Lactulose every night mixed in with his wet food. It working to a certain extent....right now I'm waiting for the next BM. His last one was on Saturday. :(Quote:
I want ed to post that maybe your vet will let you give Max some Lactulose to help him with his constipation. It is worth a try....
Oh Mary, that's so sweet. Max says thank you. :love:Quote:

Yes, I did call Dr. Singh and ask about the B-12. He said that he believes that it would not improve his quality of life. I'm on the fence about this one.Quote:
Slick, did you ask your vet or the supply place about B-12?
That link is so interesting, I just might order the book. I don't have any classical music on hand but my Mom does. I think I'll borrow one. Thanks. :)Quote:

So how is Max doing?? He's holding his own. Eating up a storm and kicking up a storm when it's poke time. I've decided that he will get a poke on Mon, Wed and Friday and get the weekend off...and of course if he starts to go downhill he will get fluids every night.
I've delivered all the kisses and smooches....he wasn't impressed - then again it was right after his fluids....
Poor cuddled Max. :D Please can you pass on a little cuddle from me when he is in a good mood?
Still thinking of you. Sorry I can't do more.
I am so sorry to read that you and Max are having to deal with this. I know it is very hard for you to worry so about him! He sure is a handsome fellow, don't think I have ever seen him before! I pray that you are able to come to a comfortable solution for the both of you!
It wouldn't hurt to try the B-12, right? I'm not sure how much good it did for Taz, but Tracey (krazyaboutkatz) is the one that suggested it to me. She had good results with it.
I'm so sorry you and Max are having to go through this stressful period. Please feel free to give me a call anytime you need to vent or talk.
Thinking of you both...
Does Sir Max like catnip? If he does, you may let him have a bit to play in before his treatment. It calms cats down who need to travel too!
Well, I am sorry that Max puts up such a fuss when it is time to give him the fluids. Sure sounds like Spunky!!!! It is good that he is eating, that is always a good sign!!! It sure sounds to me that Max is not going any place, and you will have a few more gray hairs(I do not know if you are old enough to have them!!!). Personally, I like when they fight....it was so depressing when Raven STOPPED fighting...HUGS to you and Max....
Slick, I'm sorry to hear it's a problem giving Max fluids, but as someone said, it's good that he has the strenght to put up a fight, and also that he eats. :)
Capnip might relax him a bit, so you should try that too. How about giving him the fluids on sunday ( when you're less stressed), tuesday and thursday?
I'm sending hugs to you both.
