PixieBObs are gorgeous, but I imagine they're extremely expensive as most hybrid breeds. And anyway we don't have them in Europe... :(
Selkirkrex, you can ask for a new breed whenever you have posted the pic! It's your turn.

Actually not too bad. $400 - $800 for pet quality and $1000 - $2500 for show quality. Ok, show quality is horrible, but pet quality price isn't too bad. Plus there is also Pixie Bob breed rescue, which would make the cost even less. Pixies are beautiful, smart cats! But seeing as I've got 5 cats, my husband doesn't want any more, nor do I really. 5 mouths are a lot to feed. ;)
Thank you for the info. If I really HAD the money I would import cats from the USA to Switzerland, but at the moment this is impossible. Maysbe somebody else will do it and there'll be kitten available in future. I really hope so!
Well, 5 cats are a lot. I got 2 cats, 1 dog, 2 horses, 21 rabbits and 2 guinea pigs to feed, every day... but I love them all. :D

I don't know that Pixiebobs are actually hybrids, and I'm certain Manx's aren't.Quote:

Actually it is suspected and believed that Pixie-Bobs are a hybrid. Carol Ann Brewer is the one who started the breed in the Pacific Northwest. For the breed history go to:Quote:

WOW, that's a lot of animals. I'd love to have that many, but I leave in a small home. If I lived on a farm, I'd have all the animals I could handle. Growing up I lived on a farm and had countless cats, 2 dogs, about 60 head of cattle and 5 horses. I loved it! :DQuote:

After research, she discovered that it was fairly common in the Pacific Northwest, at least, for there to be litters that were believed to be a cross between a DSH (or other house cat) and bobcats.
Of course, she never had the DNA tested to determine if there is actually Bobcat in them, but they do strongly resemble Bobcats. Now, 21 years after the origination of the breed, there is no wild DNA in them. There wouldn't be, with it having been so long since the original 2 were bred to start the breed.
There is no "solid proof" of the bobcat heritage, but when you look at the size, shape and appearance, you can still see it.
I'd never heard of this breed. They're quite pretty.Quote:

This was a new one for me. I hadn't heard of this breed. They sort of remind me of a short haired turkish van. Quite pretty.Quote:
