That Airbourne stuff really works well. I hope you'll feel better soon Tracey.
:)
Glad Storm is improving so well.
Thinking of you and Storm tonight, Tracey. I hope you're both bearing up!
I swear by Zinc...whenever I feel a cold coming on I take it and <knock on wood> haven't had one in years. Since I'm now "down here" will look for Gini's remedy.
Tracey....hope you...and Storm...can get some much needed rest over the holiday weekend.
Thanks everyone.:) I would've replied sooner but I've been having computer problems again. I just switched to comcast and my connection hasn't been what it should be. I think it's a bit too late to take airborne now since my cold has now become worse but thanks for the advice. I'll try this in the future.
Storm hasn't been eating as well the last few days so I think he's been losing weight. I can feel his backbone and part of his tail bone much more than I could before.:( He's been refusing to eat his turkey sticks but has been eating the gerber chicken and gravy but only if he can lick it off of my fingers. He's also been eating some of dry food too. He gets his stitches out on Friday at 11:55am but has to continue his antibiotics until Mon. the 29th. He's also still having some diarrhea so I don't know if the kaopectate is even working at all.
I also have another problem that I forgot to mention. One of my other cats has been throwing up daily ever since Storm's been sick. I've seen Cirrus do it once and so has my roommate so it may only be him but Sunny may be doing it as well. Maybe they can sense my stress. I know that both Sunny and Cirrus tend to eat too fast so this may be the reason. Tonight I tried feeding them much more slowly. I gave them 4 small portions 30 minutes a part. I hope this works because if not then I don't know what to do.
Thanks for caring and for reading this thread. This really means a lot to me.:D
It is so hard to blieve that Storm isn't doing any better. It is so sad to know that they are so uncomfortable. When you see the vet tomorrow, make sure they know about his lack of appetite etc (I know that you will). TRY to have a good day and a happy Thanksgiving. I will continue to pray for dear Storm.
Gosh, Tracey ... I hate to heart that Storm is still not feeling better! Now your other kitties are feeling bad too AND you!!!:( Hang in there, prayers coming your way ... and please update us on the vet visit as soon as you can!
(((HUGS)))

Tracey,
I'm sorry to hear that your cold is worse and that Storm is not any better, and now you have other kitties that are sick too! That was a good idea about feeding smaller portions. I do that with Speckles because she's such a fast eater and on more than one occasion she's thrown up her full portion of dinner.
Don't forgot, we are never given more than we can handle. My prayers continue.
Big {{{HUGS}}} to you my friend and I'll be watching for an uppydate when you get back from the vet's tomorrow.

hugs to you Tracey... and your kitty crew....
I hope the others start to feel soon asap!
Just a side note - that maybe poor Storm has diarrhea is from the antibiotic and no amount of kaopectate will work. I was on 2000mg of Augmentin for 10 days a year and half ago and I had diarrhea that was awwwfffuuullllllll, I was in misery, and I literally took a whole box of Immodium and it didn't even phase it, it just had to leave my system. I didn't think I would ever feel better.
Gentle scritches to the boys...
I'm sorry to hear Storm is not so well and that you as well feel sick.
And on top of it- the other kitties just sense the stress:(
I hope he'll feel better when the stitches are gone and even better when he stops taking the antibiotics.
Best thoughts on their way:)
More hugs and prayers on the way.
Chris
Thanks everyone.:) I'm feeling much better today and I think that Storm's feeling a bit better too. I cleaned him all up and groomed him to get ready for his vet trip. He really enjoyed this.:) He barely ate anything yesterday and had a lot of diarrhea too.:( He didn't want to eat anything today until about 30 minutes ago. I put some of his wet food in his mouth and then he started eating on his own. I'm thrilled.:) I'll update you when I get back from the surgeon. I know he'll feel much better with his e-collar off.
Sunny and Cirrus seem to be doing well with their new feeding schedule. So far as long as I wait about 30 minutes between feedings and only feed them small amounts at a time, there have been no more throw up sessions. I hope this continues. Things are finally looking up in my household.:D
