Sigh! First day at work and Anvik managed to rip out several stitches! Hubby was home, but he was in the yard "playing" with a BobCat and forgot about Anvik! Trying the bite-not collar again tonight. Incision is tightly bandaged. I'll drop Anvik off at the clinic on my way to work in the morning!

Ask Doc if plain ole Duct Tape - about 6 layers - would be detrimental to healing.
(Maybe 5 wraps around his mouth?) :p
:D
It's hard to get good help these days! :pQuote:

Anvik went to the vet this morning. It's almost noon now and I just called to check on him. They knocked him out and stitched him back up. He did keep the bite-not collar on all night so I think I may have finally figured out how to keep it on his skinny head!
I laughed at the tech who answered the phone. She said Annie is "just fine, but being a little noisy!" I asked if they wanted me to pick him up early, but since he was put under a general, the vet doesn't want him to leave until 4pm! I bet he wants me there at exactly 4 though!
Silly Annie! Leave those stitches be!
I hope the dog sitter learned his lesson! ;) :D
Anvik, Anvik. You and my sweet Diamond would make a perfect pair! Remember when Diamond skinned herself going under the fence? She would not leave her stitches alone (she had a lot of them) she ended up busting open half the stitches. So back to the vet she went. We saw the vet a lot during that time. She had to wear a tee-shirt for months. So, I know what your going through. ;)
You leave those stitches alone Anvik! :)
BUT THEY ITCH!!!!!Quote:

Anvik is a little whiny. Doesn't want me to touch his neck. I don't think he likes the bite-not collar very much! But since today cost almost as much as the original repair, he's not getting out of that thing again! He did eat dinner and has been outside for a couple brief crate breaks.
Well, the collar is temporary, too bad you can't make him understand that, and that if he leaves his stitches alone, he'll get that darn old collar off quicker! Star's had to wear hers for a couple weeks straight, and she seems pretty resigned to it after a day or two. It's still better than a cone - at least they can eat & drink & walk through narrow spaces! Hope Annie settles down soon.
