At 12:15pm PST today I helped my heart kitty cross over the Bridge. Words cannot express how much my heart hurts right now. I can't type much now. Will come back later. May I please ask that no one post pictures of him here. I want to do that myself. Thanks for understanding.

I have placed a photo of Max and Spreckles on my board of Awesome Angels Couples.
It was from years ago when they were looking at a gift exchange parcel of AWA Mice. I still have the get well card from 2004 with thier fur when I was in the Hospital with my foot problems.
They are with Pouncer And Mr Scrappy and Sam and Precious now in Paradise.
Max and Speckles are reunited and now they will have each other to enjoy the best our World has to offer.And they will be with you in spirit as our love never dies.
Spreckles has a lot of catching up to do with Max , and so amny places to see. As they will with thier Dear Meeowmie when its their time to reunite with you in love in a far nicer place.

You wont remember me, but around 8 years ago I was new here, and I asked for help with my Tinkerbelle, you were one of the first ones to respond and your advice/knowledge was bang on and got her and me through. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that.
I don’t post much anymore, but I do read and use the wealth of knowledge here when I run into a roadblock. I will always remember and be greatful for your kind help.
I have been following your journey with your beautiful boy Max silently, and with a heavy heart, knowing that in eventuality, this day would come all too soon. I have done this with my Rocky who was 19 years old when I helped him to the bridge. It tore my heart out..so I feel what you’re going through and my heart goes out to you. I tried to look at it as if it was the best last thing I could do to comfort my baby, and that we are there for them as long as we can be.
I offer my deepest sympathy to you for your beautiful boy. He is free from all of his ailments and pain. Sleep softly and peacefully sweet Max..and wait for your Meowmie content in knowing her eternal love for you.

Slick, you know how I feel about you and Max. What a good life he had w/you and so much love. I feel a pain right in the center of my chest right now, a reminder that another of our dear furkids has gone to the Bridge. For a while you'll feel so lost; I do right now just thinking about how sad you are. The time will come, though, when your memories of Max will make you smile instead of cry. My heart sank as I read this, because I can only imagine how hard it must have been. I'm so sorry and if there is anything I can do at all, I'm just down the road and will come and lend an ear if you need it.

Slick, I'm so sorry to hear about Max's passing.:( You did everything you could for him and then you did the unselfish act of letting him go. Dear Slick, now the thread is here that I dreaded to find for days and sweet Max has passed to Rainbow Bridge.
I know that he will be ok wherever he is. He had the best of lifes and was loved by the depth of your heart. He may have met Tigris yet and they may have discovered common friends.
I am rather worried about you. I know how much the feeling of a beloved cat lingers one and actually I feel tears for Tigris right now- and I know that you my friend have the same feelings of a soft paw that you will never hear again making that snow-like impression on your carpet.
I send you hugs- it gets more bearable with time in general- but he will never leave you.
Dear Slick, my heart is heavy - I know how much this hurts :( :( :( and I wish I could take your pain away. In all the years you and Max have been together, he has felt your love and has been spoiled. :) You were there for him with endless comfort and care, right until the end. No one could have taken taken better care of him than you.
Max is now free of pain and whole again, romping around with all the other kitties. I believe he will send you some purrs of love while you sleep. :love:

Slick, I want you to know how very sorry I am. I haven't been keeping up with PT like I should but something just drew me here today. My heart sank when I saw your post.
I know so very well how it feels to lose a heart kitty. My heart still aches when I think about Scout. Nothing I can say will make it better but please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I wanted to added my condolences to you in the loss of your dear boy. Hopefully you can take comfort in knowing you did everything you could to help Max, always thinking of his well-being first and I hope that in time the happy memories will come to mind easier than the sad ones.

It was a peaceful passing but that doesn't make the pain any less intense. On Friday morning when I got up I had no intention of making the decision that day. Thursday night he didn't eat so I thought I would leave it one more day and if he still didn't eat Friday night then I would call the vet.
I proceeded to get ready for work but before heading into the shower I reached down beside the bed (he loved being squeezed between the bed and the night table) I picked him up and as soon as I looked into his eyes I knew what I had to do. I emailed into work that I would not be in.
I called my neighbour Betty who came over to day good-bye. I called my Mom and she took a cab down here to say good-bye also. I wanted to be alone when he passed so Mom to a cab back home.
After Mom left, I took a brush to Max and brushed him all over. I wanted him to look nice when he met God. Then I sat down on the couch and held him close to my chest where he could feel my heart beat.
Dr. Singh and his assistant arrived at Noon. Max was given the sedative and he silently slipped into sleep. I held him and told him how much I loved him. I told him that I hoped I was the good Meowmie that he deserved. He was then given the final injection and he was gone. I held him for a few more minutes, I rocked him, kissed his little forehead and all of his feet and told him that I would see him when it is my time to go. He was placed in a box wrapped in warm blankets. After Dr Singh left, I fell apart - I fell to the floor and sobbed like a child. It's been so long since I've felt this kind of pain, this kind of emptiness, this kind of loneliness.
Anyway, I had to pull myself together and go to work in the afternoon where I was productive and focussed. However when I got home and opened the door, the apartment seemed so empty, so hollow. You all know what I mean and how I felt and still feel. Yes I know, the pain will subside and I will eventually fill the void with another rescue kitty but for now I grieve, and I grieve big time.
