So.... do you love or loathe Valentines day?
It's not a huge holiday for me, but it's a fun excuse to spoil pups and friends. ;)
I suppose it's okay for some people but I think it's been "commercialized" to death and it's way way way over the top. It used to be a sweet little occasion but it's been turned into another reason to spend money. IMHO. ;)
Gosh it was soooo important when I was hopelessly single. I saw all the couples happily making plans while I sat home alone. Then a group of friends and I would get together every year and revel in our single-hood. That was a BLAST, and I looked forward to Valentine's day for the first time.
Now that I'm married, its just another day to me, though lately we've been taking any excuse to splurge for something. Hubby and I went to dinner friday night to celebrate since I'm working tomorrow night. I bought him a box of his favorite chocolates and will leave it on his keyboard to find tomorrow morning.
I hated it when I was single.
I loved it when I was dating.
I am indifferent to it now that I'm married.
I did get him a box of his favorite chocolates though... :)
I didn't vote because I neither love or hate it. I buy the fur kids valentine type stuff. Sometimes send cards.
Andy's mom's B-day is Valentine's Day, so I sent her flowers.
If I get something, fine, if not, it's not the end of the world.
I don't know why people who are single go foaming crazy about hating it. I never did. It's just another day. Spend it with the people you love or care about, be it a boyfriend/girlfriend, parent, sibling, best friend, pet. :)
Even when I was dating someone, we never made special plans. One year we decided to go out to dinner and totally forgot it was Valentines Day till we saw the waiting area filled with flowers, balloons, and candy. *laughs*
It's not a big deal to me. This will be our first V-Day as a married couple and it really makes no difference to me. We aren't doing anything special, I work till 7pm and have to be back at work the next morning at 7am.
I love this time of year. Love is in the air ;) Go out there and tell the ones you love :)
not a biggie to me - (don't care). but if someone I know cares, sure I care. :) when I was little, our school had to share something, it was fun getting candies. :p
who knows I'll like it differently later once I have my love cuddlebug!
I really don't care that much but I love getting valentine's stuff for my birthday :)
Did not vote as i am neither for or against it really!
It is far too commercialised now....if you love someone you should let them know every day....why wait till February 14th!!! I tell my husband I love him at least once a day and I tell Bubble and Squeak I love them once a day if not more!!!! :D :p
Well, it's sweet if you have a beau but other than that I think it's depressing and over commercialized. Yesterday I saw like 7 commericials on one channel telling them to buy this or that for V-day.
I thought it was always okay.
I'm dating someone, so maybe this year it'll be my first Valentine.
I don't care for it all. What is the history of Valentine's day? It has no religious meaning to me, therefore, I do not care for it.
I am not depressed because I don't have a boyfriend, and even if I had one, I STILL wouldn't care for it.
To me, Valentine's day is just any other day.. :)
I haven't liked Valentines Day since fifth grade. I gave out Valentines
to every other kid in my class & did not get even 1 card from anyone. :(
I was crushed.
