Onyx's 13 today!
Onyx = black, and 13 = bad luck for anyone supersitious, but I'll tell you, Onyx is NOT bad luck! She's my darling girl, 13 years old today. Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Onyx! Happy birthday to you!

As a side note, I'm very happy to be celebrating her birthday today. 13 1/2 years ago, we got Rascal, then Onyx 6 months later, then our American Eskimo mix Holly 6 months later, and finally our black lab Nikki 6 months after that. So for all these years, it was "the four". As some of you know, we went through a rough patch last year in which Rascal, Nikki and Holly all passed away. This is Onyx's first birthday without any of them (and stuck with a new brood of 3 newbies :) ) so I feel extra glad to still have Onyx.
