Look what I made for the girls!

Yesterday I decided to build a kitty bed for them. I made a wooden frame (wanted it to look much nicer, but obviously I'm not very talented in making furniture! :o). For the bottom, I bought a plate of styrofoam that I wrapped into an old cotton blanket. On the top of it, I placed a folded fleece blanket, because I know the girls love to sleep on those.

As soon as the bed was ready, Lily tested it. Funny enough, she immediately crawled under the duvet: ;)

After a while, she had to find out what's at the bottom:

It took Luna much longer to give it a try. First, she was very reluctant and careful:

But after a while, she seemed to be more comfortable:

Besides, the bed is very large, I wanted it big enough for two cats, because usually my girls cuddle a lot. Unfortunately, since Luna feels so ill lately, they don't spend any time togther, another sad side effect of her illness. :( I hope they will use it together one day!

Oh yes, they use it a lot (but still not together), right now Lily is sleeping there and she's looking kind of lost because she's a tiny cat in a big bed!

he-he, your girls look like little extra-spoiled princesses in their new bed ;) and they deserve it, of course. Kisses to them both, and head-bumpies from Peppito and Jasmine :)

Now of corse the Found Cats all want a home made bed too.
I will have to see what I can do with the left over lumber from the Hotel Renovations.

OH, what a nice, comfy, cozy bed you made for your babies. I'm sure they will cuddle more once Luna is feeling better. And, it's so pretty with the blue!

Only a "cat Mom" would think of doing that and it looks fine to me! They will enjoy that for a long, long time....

(I suggest making a cover to put on the foam matress before they swollow some of that styrofoam and you have another problem on your hands.. A cover where they can't get to it.)

BTW, they are sleeping next to each other on my bed right now! :) It's the first time since Luna is feeling so ill that they are so close! :)

Thats wonderful! The best cat things are the homemade ones. I know how creative you are, so I can see you painting the wood with some great decorative design, and everybody would swear you paid hundreds of dollars for it in some designer pet store! :D
