It's actually spelled Dachshund (pronounced Dox-hund or Dax-hund)...:)

I love them all, I've only owned smooth Doxies but my favourite as far as appearance goes has to be the longhaired ones. I'd love to have a longhaired (blk/tan dapple or a Choc./tan dapple) female one day. Personality wise though, I'd have to say the Wire is my favourite. I do like smooths aswell (Esp. tri colour piebalds), but they don't involve any grooming and I love to groom dogs....

I'm not a fan of the wirehaired, but I love both long and smooth. My RB Buttons was a smooth Black & Tan. I think my favorite color is a White & Red Piebald smooth.

I think the long-haired dachshunds are the coolest looking ones! :)

I think I like the smooths and long haired ones the best.

I like the long haired ones and then the smooth haired ones.

I don't really have a preference but I tend to like smooth breeds, so I would have to say smooth

All of them i dont realy go on looks in the dog world.

I love long hair! Just like my puppy Jigger :) but we did own a smooth hair a long time ago.

I like em all. I love the look of the long-haired, but I'm picky about the coat being trimmed neatly.

as far as pure asthetics, I like wires and piebald and brindle smooths

I love all kind of doxies... My Anita is smooth haired, but I'd love to have a long haired or a wire haired some day.
