Cat Kneads Dog

Does anybody have a cat that kneads their dog? My cat is obsessed with my Golden Retriever, constantly kneading him and laying on him. My cat also cleans my dog the same way he cleans himself.
I have never seen such a close bond between a cat and a dog-- it's the cutest thing.

By the way, why do cats do that kneading thing anyway?

Kneading is a behavior in kittens which is used to expedite the nursing process! When they do that as adults, they feel very confortable.

How sweet that they are such close friends. Makes me wanna run out and get a dog - but Tinky would only distroy it - NOT make biskits or groom it. :rolleyes:

I have noticed a few times that older dogs tend to welcome young cats as friends. Maybe the cat energy is good for their arthritic aches and pains. Maybe the kneading feels good - like a massage. I am glad that your cat has a cuddle buddy, and that your dog is so tolerant of the affection.

Awwww.... my Flutter does that to my Nicki. The most amazing thing of all, Nicki lets her do it! :eek: (Nicki loves the cats, but doesn't let them touch her)

Ohhhhhh!!! That is SO Sweet! Absolutely adorable. As for the kneading, cats will do that with anything or anyone where they are content and happy. My orange tabby plops himself on my pillow in the crook my shoulder and neck and buries his face in my neck then proceeds to purr and knead as if his life depended on it. Makes me feel all warm and happy he's that loving.

AWWW! That's so cute! Logan keeps his distance from Kia, but Zam likes to lick Kia's ears and clean her face. Never seen her knead on Kia before though.

Several of my cats will sleep and snuggle up next to the dogs but one cat and one dog in particular get almost embarrassing together :o It's Mary the dog that does the licking and cleaning while cat-kins does the kneading :rolleyes:
